I Promised a Girl Scout I'd Vote

A recent project of my daughter's Brownie Troop was to get signatures on a petition. The petition was to promise to vote today. She had to get about 8 signatures on the petition, and when you signed it you got a sticker saying, "I Promised a Girl Scout I would Vote."

So I can't go back on my promise, and I'm off to the polls later today. I think I'm going to wait until my husband gets home from work. Because the kids actually get today off from school, and it will be easier if we all just go together. I'm also not sure how crowded it will be, and don't want to deal with the traffic, parking, etc. on my own. I just hope it's not that long of a wait!

So get out and vote!

  2. I promised a Girl Scout I'd get her "Try It" badges sewn or ironed on to her vest in time for our November Brownie trip to see High School Musical Live...thankfully our sweet nanny took over for me before I had to use the stapler.

  3. Hi Sue,
That was a good promise to make to a Girl Scout. I am looking forward to see who our next president will be.

  4. Now, if Girl Scouts would just hand out cookies to those who sign those petitions, we would probably have a 100% turn-out on Election Day!

  5. What a great idea and a good way to teach the importance of voting! I hope the troop members earned a badge for that! :-D

  6. Thank goodness I voted early. Hubby went at 7 this morning and where 4 years ago the wait was about 15 minutes, it was 40 minutes this morning. No telling what it would have been by the time I would have gotten there...
