Computer Problem Update

Hey all! Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! We had a great one. The kids were happy and had a great time.

My computer is totally on the fritz! I am typing this from a computer at my library! The computer has gotten worse over the past couple of days. Maybe I need some memory upgrades! I know this library computer does. It is slow going doing anything on this library computer.

But not sure if mine is going to be able to be fixed. My husband talked to the computer guy at Best Buy and he said it costs $70.00 just for them to look at it. Then it could be up to two weeks or more before they even fix it. That is if it can even be fixed. The computer guy asked him if it was over 3 years old. (it is about 4 1/2 yrs. old) The computer guy said it could cost more to fix it then it would be to get a new one.

My husband is going to talk another place on Monday. It's near where he works, and see what they say. One of the things if I get a new one, is I have not saved all my pictures! I have maybe 50% saved to disk, but not the rest. I will lose the rest of the pictures. So I'm kind of upset about that.

So that is the update for now. I'm sorry to anyone from Entrecard. As I am unable to do any dropping for now and any advertising, etc. I'm probably dropping way down - oh well. There is nothing I can do until I get my computer straightened out one way or the other.

Also thanks to everyone for your comments on my recent posts. I am also unable to return any comments and visit you all at this time. I hope too soon! If I can't get back here - I want to wish you all a Happy New Year!

One thing I know is I'm having like computer withdrawals! What did we ever do without them?

Merry Christmas - Santa Baby!

Still having problems with my computer. Thanks to everyone for your helpful comments. Not sure what is wrong. But it keeps crashing every time I do anything on it. Probably going to have to have some one look at it after Christmas.

Wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Hope I can get this darn computer fixed soon. Anyway here is a picture of my daughter with what she said was "The Real Santa."

Computer Problems

Crap & Double Crap! Something is wrong with my computer! Since about 3 PM yesterday my computer is not working right. The whole thing crashed yesterday. I tried to get it going again for about 5 hours and finally gave up.

This morning when I turned it on I was hoping for a miracle. But something is still wrong. It's not the lcd monitor. I know how to use computers, but know nothing of the technical side of it. But I think it's the "Processor." It doesn't seem to be running right. I have no idea how to fix it!

It is taking all I can just to get this post written. And to top it all off, ever since yesterday I'm getting these annoying pop-ups! I went to the thing were you block them, but they still keep coming up. I don't know how to stop them.

Crap, Crap & Double Crap!!!!

Meet My Friends Monday

My friend Toni at It is nap time hosts a weekly meme called "Meet My Friends Monday." This is where you can post about blogs you like and so forth. For more details and to join visit Toni's blog or click the icon below to go to her blog.

MeetMyFriends

This week's blog I want to talk about is a new friend Elizabeth. Her blog is called Bonds, Elizabeth Bonds. I just love the name of her blog! I met Elizabeth I guess through Wordless Wednesday. She visited my Wordless Wednesday post one week, and now we have been visiting each others blogs from there.

Her blog talks about her family, her love of tv, and whatever else she wants to talk about. She also just started a new site called Subjective Beauty. This is a site where she will post a linky and comment box on Monday and it will run through Sunday. Each week you can post an entry such as a video, a poem, a picture, whatever you like. Everyone may post once on that week's Linky and comment box. This will mean Subjective Beauty runs seven days a week!

See the Subjective Beauty website for more information. This sounds like a cool site to join for a weekly post!

Go check out Elizabeth's blogs today!

Dreaming of a Vacation!

Right about now, with about a foot of snow on the ground, and maybe a foot more today, I could really use a vacation. There is some really great deals on cruises right now. In fact, with Vacations To Go, you can save 75% on last minute cruises.

100x75

Today being the first day of winter, I could seriously go for a cruise to anywhere warm. Possibly the Bahamas or even Jamaica. I know times are tough economically but at the prices Vacations To Go is offering it is possible to go on a cruise for a real discount.

Now that I'm older I usually like to plan a trip way in advance. But in my younger days I was a little more spontaneous. One time right after I had graduated from college a few of my friends and I planned a trip to California. It was so last minute, I even booked the trip before I even had asked for the time off from my job. My boss almost wasn't even going to give me the time off, but I had already paid for the trip! That was really spontaneous!

I'd love to be that spontaneous again. And with Vacations To Go you can explore what kinds of deals you can get for a last minute cruise using their 90-Day Ticker tool. What are you waiting for, go check it out!

My Number One Priority

Blog Pictures | acobox.com

My number one priority today and until I finish is to get my Christmas wrapping done. I haven't even started it yet!

I was going to start last night, but didn't feel that good so put it off again. The days are running out though, so I really have to get going on it.

Sometimes it's hard to get motivated though, considering I usually have to wait until about 10 o'clock at night, after everyone is in bed. I'll start tonight, tomorrow I have a feeling there might not be school, due to the snow. Tuesday if they have school, I'll do some during the day, then Wednesday is Christmas Eve and they have that off. So one way or another, I have to get this done!

I Love Watching Family Movies

I love watching movies together as a family. It's so much fun to find a movie that the whole family can enjoy. Just today after we came home from playing in the snow we watched some Christmas movies we have on video.

Lately we have also been going to the library and taking out movies. My daughter loves picking out the movies and then we go home and watch as many as we can. We have snacks and today we had some hot cocoa! It's great to spend time with the family watching something everyone likes.

The above clip is for a movie called All Roads Lead Home The Movie. This looks like a great movie for the whole family. It's about a girl who goes to live with her Grandfather. And a lot of events happen to bring the family back together. Watch the above clip to see for yourself. This is one movie I'm sure my family would enjoy watching!

Snow With More on the Way

It snowed for about 24 hours here. It started around 2:00 yesterday and ended around the same time today. We got about 10 inches out of it.

Took the kids sledding today. It was still snowing at the time. And it was very cold! Needless to say I didn't take any pictures.

It is supposed to snow again tomorrow. We could get another 7 to 10 inches out of that! We might go sledding tomorrow too. I'll try get some pictures then.

Let it snow, let it snow, let is snow!

Photo Hunter's - Wide

This weeks Photo Hunter's theme is "Wide." This may be a "wide" stretch for the theme, but here is a "wide" selection of pictures I haven't had a chance to post yet. (Is it me or are these themes getting harder?)

Anyway picture number one is the tree that fell across the street and knocked down a "wide" array of wires along with it. This recent ice storm you could say was also a pain in my "wide" butt!

1214081218a

Picture number two is my Christmas Tree. That I can "widely" enjoy now that we have electricity again.

DSCN2053

And the last picture is of my "Wide" array of lights I have outside my house. That I can also "Widely" enjoy again now that the electricity is back on.

DSCN2059

Now that my lights are back on, I still have a "wide" amount of Christmas Shopping to do. Including some personalized books I want to pick up for the kids.

Hope you have a great Saturday and Happy Holidays everyone!

Already Sick of Winter

I'm already sick of winter, and it hasn't even officially started yet! We are expecting another snow storm later today. And could get up to a foot of snow! My kids schools already called yesterday and said all schools will be dismissed 2 hours early in anticipation of the snow storm.

After what has happened this past week, I guess I am just grateful that we are home. If it snows at least we will be at home! If we lose power again though I am going to scream!

And for now we actually have a generator. What happened was Wednesday I was really at my breaking point with this whole power outage. I had heard from a few people that it could be up to 2 weeks before we would get our power back! I could not go two weeks without power. And not stay in a hotel for that long. So my husband was able to get a generator through his nephew. It was somewhat of a drive to retrieve this generator and he was gone for over 3 hours picking it up.

He got back to the hotel around 7:30 PM. An hour and a half later my neighbor called and said the power was back on! Of course we were super happy about this. But my husband was also kicking himself for going to get this generator all for naught. He was actually almost going to wait until the next day to get it. Oh well hindsight is 20/20.

We had no way of knowing when we were going to get the power on. My neighbor even had told me that she had gone out to talk to the electric people while they were fixing whatever it took to get the power on. And they told her that we were actually lucky to get this power on now. Because we were not really scheduled for it yet and it could have been longer. Not sure exactly what that means, and hard to feel lucky after going 6 days without it. But I guess I should feel lucky considering there is still over 30,000 people without electricity still.

And I'm also glad we didn't actually have to use this generator. Although I was going to. But you really have to be careful with them, and 2 people in my state have already died using them during this ice storm! I'm just glad it's over!

But like I said here comes maybe 12 inches of snow today! Ugh! Wake me up in the spring!

The Week From Hell Is Over

First off, I GOT MY POWER BACK!!!!!

6 days without power! This has been literally the week from hell. So many things have happened. It has been a very emotionally draining and depressing week. I will try to post more details of what happened either later today or tomorrow. But for now I am just so happy to be back at my house with heat and electricity!

After two days staying at the Red Roof Inn, which was actually quite and not so bad, my neighbor who has stayed at their house throughout this whole thing, even though they didn't have power, called me last night to say the power was turned back on! We were already in bed and the kids were already asleep so didn't see a point in getting back here until this morning.

There is a lot more to talk about but I am too tired right now to get into it. And I have a lot to do. Like tons of laundry, cleaning, and grocery shopping. Which I'm glad we don't have to eat take out anymore. I was going to have to order some Fentraphen, if this kept up any longer.

Also thank you to all who have continued to visit me and leave the very nice comments. Yeah! Electricity!

Going to Stay at a Hotel

I know I keep talking about it, but that is the only thing on my mind now! Still no power! The schools are open today in our city. But we don't have power at my house. So I am down my mother's still. The school is going on as usual, even though people still may not have power. I am so mad and frustrated right now. I feel like I'm the only one without power.

The kids had to stay home from school today. I do not want them to miss to much of school, if everyone else is going to school. So I have decided to book a room at a hotel not to far from my house. Which I really didn't want to have to do, because I don't want to pay for that. But I don't want the kids to keep missing school. And also I can't stay at my mother's one more day! I love my mother but she is kind of set in her ways, and I think we are getting on her nerves. I know she is getting on mine. And the kids are getting on my nerves and really need to go back to school!

So if by some miracle I go by my house and there is power, then it said on this hotel's website I can cancel and not pay if I cancel by 6 pm tonight. So that is my plan. I just hope we have power.

Got to Get Christmas Shopping

If and when I ever get my power back on at my house, I really have got to get Christmas shopping. I suppose I should do it one way or the other. If we don't have power back on by say Friday (heaven forbid!), I obviously have to go shopping.

I still need to buy any kind of gifts for my mother. I have to buy stuff for my my mother-in-law. And I need to buy the stocking stuffers. And not just for the kids. I always buy my cat some stocking stuffers too. And we don't have a dog, but my mother-in-law does. The kids love their Grandma's dog, Reggie. I think this year I might buy Reggie some
dog supplies for a stocking just for him.

Please let us have power today!

Almost 96 Hours Without Power

Still no power at my house. My husband went to my house before and after work today. And there was no power. Surrounding houses seem to have power. About 5 or 6 on our street still don't.

I am so frustrated, I'm going to scream! Found out last night there was no school today. And not sure if there will be tomorrow. But a lot of people still don't have power. This sucks! I just want to go to my own house. The kids are driving me crazy. And my husband has been kind of a grump about the whole thing. And my mother has been driving me crazy too!

So I really hope my husband goes back to my house in the morning and finds out the power is back on.

Sorry I don't mean to sound like a jerk. I just had to get that off my chest. That's all I know for now.

Still No Electricity

Just an update on what is going on. I still currently have no electricity at my house. (Read previous post about it here.) I am still staying at my mother's house. And my husband has been back and forth to check if we have power at my house.

He is at my house now and no electricity. And the road right across for me still has a tree across it with wires down all around it. No one has touched anything! There are still over 200,00 people in NH with out electricity. I have no idea how long this is going to take.

I am very grateful to be at my mother's, but I also would really like to be home. For one thing I have no idea what is going on with the kids and school. I kind of doubt there will be school considering there are wires all around and the schools probably don't have power anyway.

But I also have a lot of stuff still to do with Christmas shopping and was planning on doing that at home. But depending on how long this takes, I may have to do that from here.

So anyway that's an update for now. And to any Entrecarders thanks for continuing to drop on me. I have been trying to keep up with it but am unable to do the 300 drops. Because I don't have the Entrecard toolbar on this computer. Thanks everyone!

Major Ice Storm in New Hampshire

Hi everyone. I am blogging at my mother's house. The reason you ask? Is because there has been a major ice storm in my state of New Hampshire. And surrounding states too. But my power went out at 11:30 Thursday night. And could take days, yes days! to restore. My family and I have come down to stay at my mother's house. She lives in Massachusetts about 30 miles south of me and was not affected by this storm.

So since Thursday night we do not have power. Power lines Friday morning were down in the streets all around us. My neighbors two houses down had a tree fall on their van. The whole windshield was smashed on their van. Trees were down all over the place and in the streets. There was no school today.

I was hoping the power would be back on Friday morning. But after digging up some batteries to listen to the radio, we heard the extent of the damage. I then called my electric company around 9 Friday morning, to hear a recording that stated over 100,000 customers in the state were affected. By 2:00 this afternoon that number was up to 350,000 customers. I then called around 10 Friday night and the recording said this was the worst storm in the companies history. And that service could take "several days" to restore!

So I have no idea when we will get power back on. My husband is going to drive home tomorrow to check the house. And we are in contact with a neighbor who will give us any news if hopefully the power comes on soon. But until we have power we will stay at my mother's, were there is heat and electricity.

So although I have power and access to a computer at my mother's my Entrecard dropping is virtually non existent because I can't do it the same here. And blogging isn't as easy. But I just hope we get power soon! This was very unexpected. So that's it for now. Sorry for the rambling!

My Daughter's a Mystery

I finally made up that teacher's conference I had missed before Thanksgiving. (Read about that here)

My daughter's teacher said she was doing well. All except for in spelling. Which I knew she was going to say that anyway. For some reason both my kids just can't spell to save their lives. And the teachers are always worried about it. Mostly because they think it will affect their reading. But it doesn't. Even though they are lousy spellers, the can read just fine. And are actually very good readers. So the teacher said my daughter was a mystery.

She also said that at the beginning of the year she was kind of quiet and shy. The teachers always say that, but that is not the person I know. My daughter is far from shy at home. And even with other things. I mean I think she's pretty outgoing. She does tons of social activities (dance, Brownies, etc.) So it always surprises me when they say she is shy. But I guess it just takes her awhile to adjust at the beginning of the year. (another mystery)

The teacher said she wasn't as shy now. And she actually has a pretty dry sense of humor. My daughter will say funny stuff in class that is very dry. Her teacher said she gets a kick out of it and said it was like having a little old lady in the class. I took her to mean she is kind of mature for her age. (another mystery)

So all in all she is doing well in all her subjects (except spelling), and gets along with everyone. So I am pleased, and I'm happy I got to go to the conference after all.

The Importance of Power Steering

You probably take it for granted, but power steering is very important. I remember when I was in college and my roomate's car would lose power steering. She could barely drive the car, when that would happen. It was actually very scary!

Don't let that happen to you! If you need a steering box for your car then you should visit Power Steering Pros.com. They offer parts such as power steering racks and steering boxes at affordable prices. You can now purchase and install steering racks at the same affordable prices as dealers.

Paying Bills Online

I like to pay bills online. I just paid my home insurance online and next I have to pay my auto insurance. But the thing that bugs me is trying to log in and actually do it. I mean it's supposed to be easier right? Then how come it takes me twice as long to do it, then the old days when you wrote out a check and threw it in the mail?

By the time I figure out my username, password, account number, etc. 20 minutes have gone by. I mean I have so many different usernames & passwords I can't remember them all! Sometimes I have to just create a whole new account so I can pay the bill.

If anyone has any tips or ideas on how you can keep track of all your usernames, etc. I'd be glad to hear it!

Thought For The Day

I've been sick since Friday, with a wicked sore throat and a sinus thing. Since then I have tried all kinds of remedies to get rid of it. One thing I do like, especially at night, when my throat is killing me is tea with honey. I had some "Salada" tea last night. And noticed little sayings on the tea bags. Got a good saying last night. So here is today's thought for the day:

"Minds are like parachutes.
They work better when they are open."

Brought to you by Salada tea - lol!

Stylish Eyeglasses Starting at $15.00

I found a website that sells eyeglasses starting at only $15.00. I know more and more people who are having to wear eyeglasses and at these prices they can't go wrong.

In this economy buying them online is a great idea. My friends and family won't want to buy them at the store again. Especially at these prices, they could even get a different stylish frame for every day of the week.

And I think those I know who wear eyeglasses will be happy with the variety of products available. Such as:

  • Complete prescription eyeglasses (include Anti-reflective coating for free)
  • Tinted sunglasses
  • Bifocal reading glasses
  • Progressive reading eyeglasses
  • Photochromic sunglasses
There are also some great features I'm sure they would like. Including, a virtual try-on system, free shipping (when more then one pair is ordered), and fast delivery - eyeglasses arrive within one week.

They have a great variety of trendy and stylish frames to choose from. I would also tell anyone interested to check out other customers testimonials on the testimonial page.

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there lived a powerful Genie Princess named Mariuca who was known throughout the land as the friendliest, most popular blogger in the blogosphere kingdom. Adored and admired by international visitors and commentators from around the world, the Genie Princess travels the blogosphere on her magical flying carpet, always looking for ways to share her good fortune with others.

Over the past two years of blogging, Mariuca has met so many new people, from all walks of life and all over the world, each one bringing a little of their culture and lifestyle when they visit and comment on Mariuca’s two sites. So on her 2nd Blog Anniversary, Mariuca wanted to celebrate with all of her international blogosphere buddies by hosting a bear-naming contests at Wishing On A Falling Star and Mariuca’s Perfume Gallery and to pass her two lucky, cuddly teddy bears along to the winners who came up with the best names.

On the opposite side of the world, from the moment Roxy (the prolific Roxiticus Desperate Housewives blogger) and her sweet daughters London and Maddie saw the teddy in his personalized t-shirt and blue muffler at Wishing On A Falling Star, they knew that he needed to come to live with their family in Mendham, NJ. The three New Jersey girls named him immediately and burst into a wonderful song for BEAR-iuca:

BEAR-iuca, BEAR-iuca, amazing teddy cheer.
BEAR-iuca, BEAR-iuca, we’d love you to come live here!

Mariuca received 16 possible names for the Mariuca Teddy Bear, making it hard for the Genie Princess to choose just one…then Alakazam! A bolt of lightning delivered the perfect way to share BEAR-iuca’s good fortune to bloggers around the globe. While the soft, stuffed, cuddly BEAR-iuca is on his way to live with Roxy, London, Maddie and Rex in the Roxiticus Valley, the Spirit of BEAR-iuca is racing through the blogosphere to bring happiness, holiday cheer, and beary best wishes to everyone who welcomes him into their online home and passes along the BEAR-iuca good luck charm to ten friends.

The Friendship Flower Award

I received the Friendship flower award from Windmill and Mike. Thank you both for the award. It was nice of you to think of me. Here is the poem that came with the award:

And lovely are the blossoms
That are tended with great care,
By those who work unselfishly
To make the place more fair.
And, like the garden blossoms,
Friendship’s flower grows more sweet
When watched and tended carefully
By those we know and meet.
And, if the seed of friendship
Is planted deep and true
And watched with understanding,
Friendship’s flower will bloom for you.

5.11 Tactical Knives for my Nephew

I just saw my nephew yesterday. Technically yes, he is my nephew. He's my nephew by marriage.
And we always joke about it, because he is only 4 years younger then me. He's 36 years old!

So anyway, my nephew is really into hunting. He told us yesterday how he actually got his first deer about a week ago. He loves all the outdoors gear that goes along with hunting. So it got me to thinking on what I should get him for Christmas. I'm sure he would love one of the 5.11 Knives, that I saw on LA Police Gear.

First Snow

Yesterday we had our first taste of snow. We actually drove down to my mother-in-laws yesterday and she got more snow then we did. She lives in Massachusetts, about an hour and half from me. There must have been about 3 inches on the ground when it was over. By the time we got back to our house we only had a slight dusting.

Here's some pictures. My mother-in-law lives right on a pond. It's practically as big as a lake. People even water ski on it in the summer!

Earn More Money using Dragon Naturally Speaking

Here is a guest video and article by Brett Bumeter. He talks about Dragon Naturally Speaking. This is a very informative video and article that will give you some valuable information about Dragon Naturally Speaking.

This is an excerpt from a white paper discussing how bloggers can earn more money through several different monetization and freelance writing services. It shows that bloggers that utilize Dragon Naturally Speaking can earn more money through these various services and how fast these extra earnings will pay for the software itself.

Dragon Naturally Speaking 10 Blogger Break Even Analysis with Average PayPerPost Earnings

Basically, Dragon NaturallySpeaking can help you type so much faster, that you can earn a lot more money per hour.
In this article I'm going to walk you through another scenario focusing on how much extra you could earn if you wrote for PayPerPost.com and you had a single average blog. Now at PayPerPost.com, the amount of money that you earn for your writing is not paid on a per word basis.
PayPerPost.com offers up opportunities, they call them opportunities, but you can also think of them as piecework or a job, and these "opportunities" typically have a minimum word count. The minimum word count is typically 200 words for your average article. In general the average article at PayPerPost on a high earning blog pays about $8.3. Sometimes they pay a little less, and sometimes they pay a little bit more, and a few go to extremes on the positive side.
Now if you are paid $8.3 to write a 200 word article, then that breaks down to about 4.2 cents per word. That is about 6 times more than what you can make at textbroker.com. I mentioned that only for comparison purposes, because PayPerPost.com limits you to writing three articles per blog per day.
That means that you cannot write at PayPerPost all day long for your single blog. (If you have additional blogs, you might be able to write additional articles on those other blogs.)
Tip! – You can write your three articles at PayPerPost, write some additional articles without any sponsors in between those articles (as is required), and then write some articles at PayU2Blog, and when the work is exhausted there, you can write some articles at TextBroker.com! The trick is working for the company that pays you the most first, then moving on to the next highest margin provider, over and over again.
You will see in the case studies with Adsense that writing MORE articles is actually good for building traffic to your blog!
But if we assume, just to have a comparison to our textbroker.com example, if we assume that you could type articles at PayPerPost for fifty minutes straight, earning 4.2 cents per word, and you could type 35 words per minute, you could earn $72.88 dollars per hour at PayPerPost. Now obviously, you cannot take 9 articles on a single blog in a single day, but this does point to the rate at which you can earn things with the work that is available. That $72.88 would be the earnings you could make from about 8.8 Opportunities at $8.3 per Opportunity.
So bear with me again with this example. :-)
So what can faster typing skills do to help you earn more money at PayPerPost?
Well if you could type at 150 words per minute with Dragon NaturallySpeaking, and you currently type at 35 words per minute, then you could earn about $239 per hour more! (Dragon only costs between $99 and $199 remember!)
Reminder - This would assume that you could type articles nonstop at a hundred and fifty words per minute for fifty minutes. For most of us, that doesn't mean a whole lot.
But to put this in better perspective, if you earned $72.88 from writing about nine articles, and those articles were each 200 words long, then you would have written a total of 1800 words.
• 1800 words can be typed and 50 minutes at 35 words per minute
• 1800 words can be typed in 12 minutes at 150 words per minute
Dragon NaturallySpeaking can essentially save you 38 minutes when you write nine articles.
Now with those additional thirty-eight minutes, you can spend more time:
• promoting your blog,
• networking with people,
• researching other projects,
• taking on other work from other networks
• build up a new blog to command $8.3 per article!
• Go write some articles for PayU2Blog
• Go write some articles for TextBroker
• Go write some articles to bring in more traffic and earn more money through Adsense!
You can pocket your $72.88 from twelve minutes worth of work. You can then spend the rest of that hour, working to ensure that the blog you publish those on performs very well. But the point is this, Dragon NaturallySpeaking can save you so much time, that it will pay for itself very quickly.
Your average part-time blogger will easily pay for Dragon NaturallySpeaking with the additional profits that they would earn from using Dragon NaturallySpeaking in less than 1 hour worth of blogging through PayPerPost alone. :-)
Plus just think of all of the time, that you would now have to make yourself and your site even more successful!

Action All Stars Game

Dotcom_outlinedall

The above is a screen shot from Action AllStars Sports-themed Virtual World. That's my avatar I created walking around the NBA shop. This is a really fun game for kids. For kids that like sports, or even just online games then they will really like this game.

I created a free account on Action All Stars and both my kids wanted to try it out. After you create your free account you can make your avatar. Then you can choose the kind of chat you want. This is really a safe game for kids because they have chat that they can choose from premade phrases or they can chat after parents permission more freely. Which even the free chat though is monitored so you can feel safe that your kids aren't being exposed to anything bad.

Then you can start playing the game. You can play all kinds of different games, earn tokens to buy stuff in the shops. You can also make friends with other players. And you have your own room you can buy things for and decorate. There is a lot of fun things you can do on Action All Stars.

Action All Stars is partners with MBL.com, NBA.com and ConnectSafetly.org. My son really enjoyed playing this game. Check it out today, I'm sure your kids will like it too.

Photo Hunters 21 "Breakfast"

This weeks Photo Hunters theme is "breakfast." My daughter loves Santa and visits him every year to sit on his lap. She still wants to go this year, even though she's 8 soon to be 9. And a few times we have gone to some "breakfast's" with Santa.

Here's a few pictures from last year's "breakfast" with Santa at our local YMCA.

My Holiday Wishlist

The above video is my Holiday wishlist. Things that I thought of that I may want for Christmas. I have a hard time every year thinking about what I may want for Christmas.

But if you have kids no need to have a hard time coming up with ideas. Just check out Mega Brand Toys for an awesome selection of toys. If your kids love dora and diego magic then visit Mega Brand toys to find some great toys for them. They have a really cute Dora and Boots Tree house that any Dora and Diego fan would love. They have a lot of other great toys for all ages too!

Oh Christmas Tree

We bought our Christmas tree today. And plan on decorating it tomorrow. I grew up with a fake tree, but my husband grew up with a real tree. So we've been doing the real tree the past few years. The kids seem to enjoy the real tree better. And enjoy going to pick it out too.

Here's a picture of the tree sans any decorations or lights. I'll take some pictures after we decorate tomorrow.

Holiday Specials at Morey's Piers

I've never been to New Jersey, but I would really like to go sometime. And when I do I want to go to the best water parks in New Jersey. Which would be Morey's Piers.

This is a fantastic amusement park like no other. There is 3 amusement piers and two beachfront waterparks over six beach blocks, full of rides and concessions for the whole family.

This would also be a great time to take a Jersey Shore beach Vacation. Because Morey's Piers is having some great Holiday sales right now. They are having the best prices for 2009. From December 1st through January 9th there are sales on 2009 season passes (where you can save up to 40%), holiday tickets, gift cards, and more.

So if you would like to have a great family vacation in New Jersey be sure to visit Morey's Piers. And visit their website for great information on hotels & motels in Wildwood.

Four Foods on Friday 58

Here's this weeks questions for Four Foods on Friday. By Fun, Crafts and Recipes. If you would like to play along visit there where the questions are posted weekly.

#1. Does your family usually eat meals in the kitchen or somewhere else?

In the kitchen. No TV. That's a rule.

#2. Who usually does the dishes in your house?

I do mostly, my husband will help more on the weekends.

#3. What’s your favorite small appliance or tool in the kitchen? My two slice toaster. I like it for bagels, toast, english muffins, etc. better then the toaster oven.

#4. This one’s for my son. Share a recipe for chili.
I love chili, but never really made it myself. But here's a recipe I found in one of my crockpot cookbooks. It looks so easy I think I'll have to try it.

Short-Cut Chili Con Carne
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1 tsp. salt

1 to 2 tsp. chili powder

1 bay leaf
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
2 (16 oz.) cans kidney beans

brown ground beef, drain
fat. In crockpot combine all the ingredients. Cover and cook on high for 2 to 3 hours. Remove bay leaf. Makes 6 to 7 servings.

Dermalastyl Skin Care

Dermalastyl is a new science in skin care. By simply applying a small amount twice daily, you will begin to notice a difference in your skin in just 30 days.

How Dermalastyl can do this is through elastin. As you get older you begin to lose elastin. The loss of elastin can lead to wrinkles and sagging skin. But with Dermalastyl you can supplement elastin levels in the skins surface. And you can reduce the appearance of existing wrinkles and prevent the onset of new ones.

This sounds like a great product. Maybe my mom would like some for Christmas. For years my mom has talked about getting a face lift but has always been to scared of getting one. She has even considered Botox or collegen injections, but was afraid to do those too. But with Dermalastyl she wouldn't have to worry about a medical procedure or any kind of injections. Plus the cost of Dermalastyl is dramatically less then any kind of expensive procedure!

So if you're looking for a painfree way to get younger looking skin, that's easy on your pocketbook, then check out Dermalastyl and order some today.

Thursday Thirteen # 16 "Heteronyms"

Heteronyms are words that are spelled the same but have different meanings when pronounced differently. Here's thirteen sentences using heteronyms . Read through these sentences and see if you can read them correctly. It's amazing how the mind can know the difference.

These came from a worksheet my daughter brought home from school. I thought they were cool.

1. The bandage was wound around the wound.
2. The farm was used to produce produce.
3. The landfill was so full, they had to refuse more refuse.
4. He could be the lead if he would get the lead out.
5. Since there is no time like the present, it is time to present the present.
6. When shot at, the dove dove into the bushes.
7. I did not object to the object.
8. The insurance was invalid for the invalid.
9. They were to close to the door to close it.
10.The buck does strange antics when the does are around.
11. To help with planting, the farmer taught his sow to sow.
12. The wind was too strong for us to wind the sail.
13. I had to subject the subject to a series of tests.

Extra Curricular Activities

My daughter is involved in some extra curricular activities. She is doing Brownies, dance class, and piano lessons. And yesterday some of them collided all on the same day.

There was a half a day at school yesterday. So right after school her Brownie troop went on a field trip to the local News Station. They had a tour of the news station and got to meet some of the people from the news. They had a good time.

After that was done she returned home just in time to get ready for her dance class. We went to the dance class. We returned home around 5:45. Just in time to eat some dinner and then get ready for the next activity!

Her music class at school was able to play the recorder during the Christmas concert last night. Remember 3rd grade when you had to learn the recorder? Well her class actually got to play 3 songs during the school concert last night. It was so cute seeing the kids play the recorder. They all did a great job. And at short notice. They don't usually have the 3rd graders in the concert but for some reason the 5th grade couldn't perform in it, so they needed to add something to the concert. So they had the 3rd graders in it. They only had like 2 weeks practice. And they did a great job! They played a Partridge in a Fig trees. No wait it's Partridge in a pear tree.

So she had a very busy day yesterday. She loves doing all the extra curricular activities. Hopefully they won't all be on the same day again though!

Busy Day

Thanks to everyone who has commented on my last two posts. I have been trying to catch up with the comments, because I try to return all comments. But have been unable to get to everyone yet. I had a pretty busy day today. Activities for my daughter. Which I will try to post more about soon.

Now I'm trying to catch up on all my Entrecard drops. And tomorrow I plan on returning everyone's comments. Hope you had a good day.

Holiday Eyeglass Frames Are In!

There is a wonderful selection of Holiday frames in now at Zenni Optical. The have a complete line of prescription glasses starting at eight dollars. My husband wears glasses and has since he was about 8 years old. And now many others in my family are starting to need glasses. Now with getting older my mom, sister and brother-in-law all need prescription glasses.

My sister was just telling us a story at Thanksgiving on how she didn't have her glasses at work recently. She had left them at home and had to call her husband to bring them into her. Otherwise she can not do her job. She is really lost without her glasses!

I'm going to tell her about the great deals at Zenni Optical! These holiday frames pictured below would really look good on her. And starting at $8.00 a pair she could afford to have a few pairs, that way she could have some at home and at work. Then she wouldn't have to worry about not having them with her.

If your looking for some great deals on prescription glasses, check out Zenni Optical. And look for the great selection of Holiday frames!

9 Stores

Yea! I found the things I was looking for! It only took a trip to 9 different stores to find them! My kids don't really read my blog so I guess it's safe to say. But I was given explicit instructions on certain Webkins to find for Christmas. The Snowman, Dragon, Lil' kinz lion, Lil' kinz chickadee. Well after going to 4 different stores I found them all.

Saw the lion at Walgreens the other day but didn't buy it. Went to one store yesterday, they only had the dragon, and chickadee. Didn't buy them. What was I thinking? I had hopes of just buying them all in one store. And I wanted to make doubly sure which ones they wanted for Christmas. So after rechecking with them, I went to another store today and found the Snowman, which I did buy. Then went back to the other store and bought the Dragon and Chickadee. Luckily I did because it was the last two Dragons. Then stopped at a different nearby Walgreens, of course they didn't have the lion. So drove all the way to the other Walgreens and found the lion!

Also found the Gingerbread cookie cutter today, I have been looking for. Which I have searched for in 3 stores! My daughter wants to make a gingerbread house and make gingerbread cookies too. I paid $4.99 for it. Which I was debating on but was not about to search anymore for one. But is it me or does that seem like a lot for a cookie cutter?

Oh well I can check some stuff of my Christmas list. After traveling to 9 different stores to find everything! Don't you just love Christmas Shopping?

Credit Card Harassment

A certain credit card company keeps harassing my husband and I with phone calls. We do owe them some money. But I still don't feel they have the right to call my phone 10 times a day and then my husband's phone 10 times too. And it also bugs me that they leave messages saying they have an "affiliate program we might be interested in." Or "they have a program that can save us up to $300.00." And various other messages.

This is all just a guise to get us to call them back. I don't feel like they have the right to call with these false messages all in an attempt to get us to call them. I finally called the company to find out what it was all about and she said it's because we owe them money.
I told her why do they keep calling me and leaving these messages about affiliate programs, etc. She didn't even have an answer she just said it was vital my husband calls them back.

I was so mad! I mean isn't this false advertising or something? How can they call me with these claims that aren't even true? This is so ridiculous! I really want to switch companies. If we can't pay them off at least I will try to transfer the balance to another company. I 'm going to start checking some
american express credit card limits.

Brightstorm Education Site

Brightstorm is an education site that has online courses for students. Students can take everything from geometry, algebra and even SAT preparation courses. Wow that's totally cool! I wish they had this when I was going to school. I could have really used help in algebra and even on my SAT's!

My son is in 7th grade now and it won't be long when he will be taking some of these courses. It would really be great to get some help especially with the SAT's. I didn't take any extra courses for that and I pretty much bombed them. I would really love my kids to do well on them, since they are an important prerequisite to getting into college.

The courses really have educational effectiveness and are also a great value. You can Sign up for a free brightstorm acocunt, which gives you access to a free episode in every course. The courses are also taught in a fun but professional way. So students will learn the content but will have fun doing it too! If you would like more information on how you or the students you know can benefit from this then check out their website!

Meet My Friends Monday #1

Toni has started a new meme called "Meet My Friends." It is basically a way of sharing with others some of your favorite blogs. On Mondays you can highlight a favorite blog of yours anyway you want to. Visit Toni's blog to join & find more information.

That being said the blog I would like to highlight this week is by my friend Robin. Robin's blog is called Healthy Living. Her blog focuses on losing weight and health tips. She also is a Herbalife Distributor and sells products to lose weight the healthy way.

Robin is also a great supporter of my blog. I "met" her almost a year ago (which is hard to believe) through "Mybloglog." And we have been friends ever since. We have supported each other through our blogs, and through tips on the stuff that goes with blogging. Like generating traffic, widgets, Entrecard, etc.

So if you get a chance visit her blog. Leave her a comment, she'll more than likely return one to you. She is one of the nicest people I've "met" in the blogsphere!
