Valentines Smiley Cookies Review

I received some Valentines Smiley cookies to review.

Product Description:

Got your heart in your mouth?

So do we, because a heart shaped cookie is the best way to get a taste of love’s ultimate temptation. That’s why our bakers decided to offer this consummate Valentines Day Cookie every day of the year — frankly, they had their hearts set on it.

The Ultimate Sweet Heart

Now baked fresh with the same artistry and pure ingredients as our original Smiley Face Cookies, our sugar cookie hearts come delicately hand-iced with a pink base and white face that says love with a smile.

My take on the Product:

We had just finished dinner on a Saturday night. The doorbell rings. Who could be ringing the doorbell on a Saturday night? Fedex drops of a package. My husband realized it wasn't addressed to us.

Less then 5 min later Fedex guy comes back to exchange the wrong package for the right one. What could it be we wondered? We opened it up and it was Valentines Day Cookies !

We were so happy! We were just thinking about digging up some kind of after dinner dessert, and here was some beautiful Frosted Heart Cookies! My daughter and husband devoured the dozen cookies up in no time! They loved them!

Visit Smiley Cookie to shop and check out the selection of all the delicious cookies!

Friday Photo Flashback

Cute picture I found when I was visiting my mother the other day. That's me, my sister Sheryl, my sister Debbie (from left to right). Taken at my Grandmother's in 1974.

I also tried to restore the color a little on the new printer my sister just gave me, just because "she loves me." And my old one was busted! - lol

Roundabouts Cupcake Sleeves Review and Giveaway - ENDED

I received Roundabouts Cupcake Sleeves to review and giveaway.

Product Info:

I'm a busy mom of two that invented a new product called Roundabouts® Cupcake Sleeves and began selling online in Feb 2009.  They're wraps for cupcakes that transform standard cupcakes into virtually anything.

Using toppings easily found at a grocery or local party supply store, our decorative self-adhesive cupcake wrappers instantly transform cupcakes into popcorn tubs, gumball machine, sushi, and ice cream cones.  Our wraps are resistant to grease an oily substance, are earth friendly, and wipe clean if things get a bit messy in the kitchen! We’ve even had customers wash and re-use them, adhering a second time with a dab of frosting.

We personalize, customize and have not only been featured on Rachel Ray Magazine, we are proud winners of the Most Innovative Exhibitor Award at the 2010 July CA Gift Show in Los Angeles.

My Take on the Product:

When I first saw this product's website I was so impressed by this idea! This is so cool. You've got to go to the website and check out all the different Roundabouts that are available.

I received the Valentines Day Candy Hearts cupcake Roundabouts. To be honest I haven't made the cupcakes yet, because my daughter wants me to save them until it gets closer to Valentines day, and she might have a sleepover with some of her friends and wants me to use them then. But these are just so awesome I wanted to get this giveaway up for you all!

Here's a picture of what I hope mine look like when I make them:

My Take on the Product:

I received a Giant 54” Pipeline Snow tube last week from Aqua-Leisure to review and giveaway! Which was actually perfect timing since the kids didn't have school for 4 days due to snow & the holiday. We got about 20 inches of snow last week and then another 5 or so on top of that!

We have used the Pipeline Snow tube twice so far. After I blew it up,  my daughter and I went sledding. Let me just say this tube is awesome! My daughter went flying in this thing. I notice she went further then anyone else did on the tubes they had. I even got on it with her and went down the hill!

We also went Sunday down my sister's, and my sister was also really impressed with how far she went on this tube. My daughter is having so much fun with it. And looks like we may be getting some more snow Friday!

Here's some a cute picture I took of her on it:

Book Review & Giveaway: Resurrecting Anthony: A True Story of Courage & Destination- ENDED!

Resurrecting Anthony: A True Story of Courage and Destination

I recently received a book to review & offer in a giveaway. The book is called  Resurrecting Anthony: A True Story of Courage & Destination, by Linda & Tony Cole.

Here is some info. about the book:

On September 8, 1998, their son Anthony Cole had a heart attack – at age 12. During the four to five minutes it took paramedics to resuscitate him, Anthony’s brain was deprived of oxygen, resulting in global traumatic brain injury. Now 25 years old, Anthony is living under the constant care of his family, plus a dedicated team of healthcare professionals in and out of the home. In RESURRECTING ANTHONY: A True Story of Courage & Destination, Anthony’s parents share the incredible journey they have taken to accept a new life and family, all while keeping a successful business afloat and raising their daughter Alex.

The book also includes helpful “Toolbox” or takeaways for living through crisis which includes organizational advice for dealing with the maze and mountain of paperwork that results from hospital and insurance bills. It also has an indispensible directory of resources that includes contact info for groups such as: Brain Injury Association of America and the National Association of the State Directors of Developmental Disabilities.  For more information please go to www.resurrectinganthony.com

My take on the book:

As a parent you always worry about your kids and wonder what if something awful happened to them. That is not all this book is about though! This book is a very inspirational book and shows you what you can do if something like this ever happened.

Resurrecting Anthony: A True Story of Courage & Destination, by Linda & Tony Cole, is an emotional book that shows the parents feelings as they deal with their sons decline. The book shows someone who suffers with a medical issue. This will really pull at your heart strings! But it will also inspire you and lift you up, to see parents as devoted as they are! This story is so powerful and motivational!

Tabasco Original Red!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of TABASCO® Original Red. All opinions are 100% mine.

I'm sure you all have heard of  TABASCO® Original Red. If not here is a little additional information for you then. It was the first sauce introduced by the Mcllhenny family back in 1868! And it is not just to add heat it adds flavor to your food. Tabasco Original Red is a combination of salt, red pepper and vinegar. And did you know that it has a 3-year aging process? Wow, I didn't know that!

Tabasco Original Red will bring out the most in your food. It doesn't just add flavor to your food, like some other sauces, it will enhance the flavor of your food! One thing that it is great on is pizza. Awhile ago I bought some Tabasco Original Red and tried it out on some pizza, it was great! In fact, it's so good they have put together a page -  Pizza Perfected. Check it out there are a lot of good ideas on how to make some yummy pizzas using Tabasco Original Red. These look fantastic! I'd love to try them all.

Hey, also coming up is the Big Game day! I love watching the Super Bowl, especially if my team gets in! Which looks like they may have a good chance! Go Patriots! Anyway there is also a great page the - Game-Day Party Menu. I would love to be watching the game, eating these awesome looking snacks! Check out these links for your self - you'll love all these ideas using Tabasco Original Red!

My New Years Resolution

I never really make any New Years Resolutions. But this year something took place that just happened to coincide with it. We were visiting my Mother in law in the nursing home days before New Years. And if you've ever been to a nursing home - you know they really crank up the heat in there. So I decided to take my jacket off. I had a short-sleeved shirt on under it.

My daughter noticed right away to put it nicely my less then toned under-arms. Nice of her - huh? Well anyway, I went into the bathroom at the nursing home and gave it a closer look. I never noticed it too much before, but became more and more conscience of it.

Maybe I need to get some Bulk Powders to beef up my arms? What do you think? Well, I might do that. But I also decided to start working out a little. I bought some weights and a DVD and am going to tone up a little. Hey, it couldn't hurt right?

Of course I did it once last week and then - (not because of the work out) felt sick last week so wasn't able to do it again until today. I just did it this morning - and am going to try to do it at least 2 to 3 times a week. Ugh! I already feel the burn!

What about you? Any New Years Resolutions?

Weekend Getaway to Branson

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Hiltons of Branson. All opinions are 100% mine.

How was everyone's New Years Eve & New Years celebrations? I hope you all had a good time ringing in the New Year.

Speaking of celebrations I just thought of another great way to celebrate the New Year. And that is with a weekend getaway. Wouldn't you love a weekend getaway right about now? I know I would. I found the perfect spot to do just that, and it is in Branson, Missouri!

I would love to go and stay at either the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel  or the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing. There is so much to see and do down there, and would make a terrific weekend getaway for my family and I. Some of the things we could do when we're down there is go shopping! My daughter all of a sudden loves shopping and there are some great shops and boutiques down in Branson. A few other fun things we could do while visiting Branson are go to all the awesome restaurants down there and then take a walk on the river - I love doing that!

We could also play some golf at some of their famous golf courses. Or maybe visit some museums, theme parks or any of the other 49 live entertainment theaters! There is so much to do down in Branson, maybe we'd need more then just a weekend getaway to fit it all in!

Here's a picture that I like. From left to right: My MIL, Me, Husband, My Mom.

Taken on my wedding day in 1994. It's not my wedding anniversary today or anything, but wanted to find a picture with my MIL & my Mom in it. Because my MIL fell again and is back in the nursing home. And my Mom was supposed to get hip replacement surgery yest. but it was postponed until Jan. 17th. So wanted something positive to think about!

Book Review: BARBIE: A Rare Beauty

I recently received a book called BARBIE: A Rare Beauty, by Sandi Holder to review. Here is some information about the book:

She owns a mansion, a jet, a cruise ship, and a few convertibles. She’s traveled the world, stopping in over 150 countries. She has five sisters, over 40 pets and an on-again-off-again relationship with the smoothest man in America. Her photo adorns the walls of sought-after hotel suites in cities such as Paris and Las Vegas. But most importantly, she is the face of a nearly $2 billion empire—and still has time to shop for shoes.

When Sandi Holder met the 11½ inch tall American icon, Barbie was turning heads in her Red Flare outfit (#939), a rich red velvet tent coat, and sporting the brunette Bubblecut she donned in the early 60s. Now owner of Doll Attic in Union City, CA, the celebrated Barbie doll expert is presenting her incredible collection in BARBIE: A Rare Beauty (F+W Media; October 31, 2010; $30.00; www.dollattic.com). The glamorous guide to Barbie’s first 50 years showcases stunning vintage dolls, classic fashion sets, one-of-a-kind rarities, store displays and many never-before-seen items—all acquired by Holder during two decades of Barbie doll collecting.

Two decades ago when her son fell seriously ill and Sandi suddenly needed to generate income while staying at home, she and Barbie got down to business. With such an impressive resume of over 100 positions, from fashion designer to school teacher to three-time presidential candidate, Barbie was the perfect silent partner in Holder’s plan. Immersing herself in all-things Barbie, she began attending doll shows, buying duplicates and assessing the market and was soon selling vintage dolls from two plastic milk crates in her garage. In 1989, she opened her Doll Attic in a storefront in the San Francisco Bay area.

My take on on the book:

I received this book literally on Christmas Eve, and it was like getting a nice Christmas present. My daughter and I really enjoyed looking through this book. We loved discovering all the different Barbies. I never realized how many different ones there were!

Some that stood out to us were a "Harley Davidson" Barbie, "Star Trek" Barbie, or even a "Lingerie" Barbie! This book is a beautiful "coffee table" book, that has awesome colorful pictures to puruse. This is a must have for any Barbie fan or even novice like me.

Buy it!: Barbie A Rare Beauty at Amazon.com

Disclaimer: I received a complementary copy of "Barbie: A Rare Beauty" by Sandi Holder for the sole purpose of reviewing the book. Receiving a complementary copy of the book in no way affected my review. I received no monetary compensation.
