Bloggers Unite for Refugees

Bloggers Unite

Today Bloggers Unite for Refugees.

A refugee is defined as
any person who is outside any country of such person's nationality or, in the case of a person having no nationality, is outside any country in which such person last habitually resided, and who is unable or unwilling to return to, and is unable or unwilling to avail himself or herself of the protection of, that country because of persecution or a well-founded fear of persecution on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion.

Today some of the largest sources of refugees are Palestinian Territories, Afghanistan, Iraq, Myanmar, and Sudan. Sudan alone has over 5 million refugees.

The country with a rising amount of refugees is Iraq. Over 4.7 million people have been displaced since the beginning of the war in 2003.
At least 60,000 Iraqis are losing their homes and becoming refugees every month.
