Walk & Make a Difference with BeeWell Miles

Recently I was asked to participate in a campaign called BeeWell Miles . Which is a great program sponsored by Bumble Bee Foods. They are donating $0.15, to Breast Cancer research, for every mile logged. The campaign runs from 4/1/09-10/31/09. And the money will go to the charity called Breast Cancer Network of Strength.

I was very excited to be able to start taking part in this program. I must admit I am not a big exerciser. As far as working out at a gym and the like. But the one form of exercise I have always loved is walking. When I wanted to lose weight before I got married, I walked. When I wanted to lose weight after my pregnancies, I walked.

I love the freedom of walking outdoors, and at the same time getting some exercise. Saturday I decided to head out for a walk. It actually was a bit cold out and pretty windy out, but I didn't let that stop me. Below is a picture my daughter took of me before I headed out for my walk.

I borrowed my husband's ipod, put on my walking shoes, and tried out my new pedometer. When I was done I had walked a little over 2 miles! Today I registered at BeeWellMiles.com and logged in my miles. As I mentioned they are donating $0.15 for every mile that is logged in. So just think what a difference I could make if I walked 2 miles a day. I would be doing my part to help in the fight against Breast Cancer and getting some great exercise too.

If you want to join in I encourage you to visit BeeWellMiles.com. There you can sign up for an account. You can log in your miles, find out how many calories you are burning, share your favorite walking route with others. You can even enter your meals, and figure out your caloric intake. And there is a lot of other things you can do on the website. Check it out today, and do your part!

  1. Thank you for this post! I have been wanting to walk our neighborhood, but we have been here a year, and I've only walked once! Now I have even more reason to move. ALSO my daughter loves to walk, and do what she can for breast cancer support-I will be sharing this with her also! Enjoy your walks:)
