Aloha Friday #3

An Island Life hosts this meme. Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

My question: Do you check your receipts either at the store or when you get home? And if you find a mistake do you do anything about it?

My answer: I check my receipts sometimes, not as often as I should. Yes I found mistakes before I even left the store. Just last week at the supermarket, the sign said something I bought was on sale. I just happened to scan my receipt on the way out of the store and noticed they charged me $3 more then I thought it was. I guess it wasn't on sale anymore, but the sign was still up so they gave me back the difference.

  1. I hardly ever check my reciepts, unless it seems like a lot of money for a little bit of stuff.

  2. I try to scan them and yes I'll tell them if they've over charged me. I won't always drive back same day, but I will tell them next time I'm there.

  3. I watch the register like a hawk, so I usually catch errors when they are run in. I have found them after too, and when speaking to customer service, I usually get my money back or the item free! :) Great question!

  4. If I catch the mistake I'll usually take care of it depending on how big the mistake is. I have a friend that drove back to the store for a .50 cent mistake. That's a bit crazy but I hardly ever check. Maybe I should start. :)

  5. I try to watch what's being scanned especially if the items are on sale but on occasion I've found something Not on sale that still scanned higher. And yep, I go to customer service & get the issues worked out.

  6. I try to watch the scanner and check my receipts, but since I usually have to shop with 1, 4 and 7 year olds in tow, it's not easy to keep track. I have the same problem with trying to use coupons...too many little hands and loud whines in the mix, lol. If it's more than a dollar or so I will usually address it, tough I have thrown out whole containers of food that was rotten when I opened it. Even had a brand new box of cereal with worm and webs in it once...eeewwwww! That one still gives me the creeps. Blech.

  7. The good part about being over 40....you check your receipts on the way out of the store so if there was a mess up you can head back in while you are still there to get your money back. And I watch the scanner too. Sometimes they're talking or kids get in the way.

  13. I almost never check my reciepts. I probably should, but my time seems more valuable than my money in most cases. Although if it's a big mistake . . .
