Random Tuesday Thoughts

I don't write these too often, because sometimes I feel they are whining & complaining sounding. I try to be a positive person, and not let things get me down or angry, but lately a few things have really bugged me.

Mailman- sorry I didn't shovel the mailbox to your liking, but my husband was away for almost 2 weeks. And I have a previous injury that makes it hard for me to do the shoveling properly. Thanks for not delivering my mail for 3 days. Now that my husband is home though and shoveled, you can finally deliver the mail.

Thanks on the day that you could finally deliver the mail, you knock on my door anyway to hand deliver it to me because I had a certified letter. And thanks for delivering a card with gift certificates worth 200 dollars in it to the wrong house. Luckily we have an honest neighbor.

Mother's neighbor- We have known you for over 30 years, so if you go away for an extended time, it would be nice if you could let someone know. My mother thought you would be back right after Thanksgiving, but you have not come home since. We don't know your son's phone number in Las Vegas. Please let us know if you are ok.

Neighbor's son - I figured I could maybe contact you through Facebook. I looked you up and found you on there. I haven't talked to you in years, but sent you a message through Facebook. I don't even want to be "friends" with you, but would just like you to message me back that your Father is OK. Don't you check your email? Would it kill you to email me back?

Anonymous Relative- I know it was with good intentions that you sent me a check for presents for the kids. But I was pretty much done with my shopping. Now I have to run around trying to buy presents that are from you to give to them on Christmas. And I will probably end up spending more money then you even gave me for them. And I also have to do the wrapping. Thank you for that.

Another Anonymous Relative - Thank you for complaining to another family member about your financial problems. Now they feel bad for you. I feel real sorry for you - that you own 3 houses and that one was given to you years ago free in clear in somebody's will. But then you got greedy and bought 2 more. I feel bad that you get a check handed to you by the government every month for not doing anything. And that you go on trips to elaborate places every year. And that you don't even have kids to worry about supporting. Yes, I feel real bad for you.

Random Tuesday Thoughts #7

I'm past due for an annual check up. But the last Dr. I went to has since left that practice to go to another one. I didn't really like her anyway. But now I have to go through the whole process of finding another one. (or I may check this practice to see if I can just go there but see a different Dr.) But I really only like to see female doctors, so unless there is another female there, I don't want to go back there.

I'm also due for a mammogram but I don't have a Dr. So I'm not sure if I can just get it done anyway, or if I should get a Dr. first. What a pain!

There is a possibility of me getting a job where my husband works. There may be a job opening up sometime in the near future where he works and I may be able to get the job. He gave them my resume and as soon as they want to fill this position, I may be called in for an interview.

I'm somewhat nervous about the whole thing. Since I only worked a couple of years ago at some of the schools around here, but other then that haven't had a real job since before my son was born - 13 yrs ago!

The hours seem kind of a pain, 4-7:30 pm. But also good in a way, because my husband will be home to watch the kids, while I go to work. And the extra money will also really help. We'll see what happens.

Random Tuesday Thoughts #?

I haven't done one of these for awhile. But thought I could throw together a few thoughts. Um, let's see.

Number one, I have to continue this later because my daughter wants to get on "Webkinz.com" to check her Webkinz.

Ok, I'm back. My daughter is on her way to school now. Yesterday was the first time in months that she went on Webkinz.com. I think it's because she went back to school yesterday after a weeks vacation. And some kids are really spoiled rotten have a lot of them.

What else is going on? I decided to take the comment challenge by I am Harriet. I'm going to see if I can make 1000 comments in the month of May. Click this cool widget (which I'm going to get on my sidebar soon) to check it out too.

I thought I was doing good, I figured I have left 26 comments so far this month. Then I just looked at her tally and she has left 243! I better get commenting.

And I think I have to lay off the gum. I chew it constantly. And last night I was chewing it and something popped. My tooth hurt for the rest of the night after that. I'm nervous of the filling I have there. How long does a filling last? It's been over 20 years for it. I don't want to go to the Dentist. I am giving up gum, which will be hard.

Random Tuesday Thoughts ~ and Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! Even though I'm not even Irish! I am wearing my obligatory green shirt. I remember going to the St. Patrick's Day parade in Boston when I was like 9 or 10 yrs. old. I went with my friend and her father. They were totally Irish, and I showed up at their house before the parade, without any green on. They couldn't believe it and, all they could come up with was like a green ribbon for my hair or something. They felt better after.

I remember one time in college, where like everyone was Irish except me, and it was St. Patrick's Day. I totally spaced on it and didn't wear anything green. I remember wearing a pink dress. A girl in one of my classes came up to me and rather meanly told me I should be wearing green. And I will never forget how mad she was and said the least I could do was try to fit in!

Yesterday was my lucky day. I found out from Dee @ Two of a Kind, Working on a Full House that I had won one of her giveaways! Cool! Thanks Dee. Then when I was leaving the house, the mailman handed me a package. It was from Izea.

With some free green swag! Like this t-shirt (my obligatory green t-shirt I have on) and some necklaces, pins, etc, and some Blu Frog Energy drinks.

Cool, I love free stuff! Thanks Izea! Then when I got home and looked at the other mail, there was a check from my in-laws for my Birthday! Yea!

Also while out "bra" shopping. Which by the way I hate and only do once a year. Literally I go out once a year and buy some bras, that's it. Because I think it is one of the worst things that a women is subjected too. Which, yesterday, actually didn't go so bad I only tried on 3 and found one I liked. Maybe I'll learn someday to just buy the same one I did before that I liked. I should go back and actually buy like 2 or more of this one I did buy.

But anyway one thing I noticed was everyone wearing pajama bottoms! No offense to those of you who wear them, but personally it drives me crazy. I know they're comfortable and am not against wearing them around your house, but come on, would it kill you to change into some regular pants while at the mall or the supermarket!

A few months ago I bought some kind of Dove leave-in conditioner. I bought it at the "buck store." I ended up really liking it and wanted more. I was almost out of it a couple of weeks ago, and saw some at Walmart. Of course me being "cheap" I didn't buy it because it was like $2.50 more at Walmart. In the mean time 2 weeks later I haven't gone to the "buck store," which isn't really that convenient to get to and have looked in some supermarkets for it. When I could have just gotten it at Walmart in the first place, while I was there!

Who deemed that any kid who's birthday it is must bring in cupcakes to school for their birthday? My daughter's birthday always falls over their Feb. vacation. So every year it's a debate on do we bring them in before the vacation or after the vacation. And to make matters worse another girl in her class, has her birthday the day after my daughter. So every year this girl brings her cupcakes in the day before vacation, my daughter the day they get back from vacation. Because that's how the other girls mother sets it up. My daughter ends up getting upset about it every year. Whatever!

Also when I finally did make the cupcakes, which was supposed to be on a Monday. School ended up being cancelled because of a snow storm. 7:00 at night when I finally did make them, I was about to put them in the "muffin tins" when I realized I only had like 8 left. My husband had to go out to buy more that night. And finally I had saved a box specifically for that purpose. It was in the kitchen for 2 weeks waiting to be used. Right when I was about to put them in the box, I realized my husband had thrown it out!

We've has some "issues" with our cat and the litter box. Without getting into the gory details I looked online to find some solutions. It suggested that maybe they would prefer the "clumping" kind of litter better. Anyone ever try this stuff? This stuff stinks. It doesn't clump, so much as stick like glue and/or cement to the litter box. It is more of a hassle cleaning it then the regular kind of litter. I'm will not buy the "clumping" kind again - lol!

Random Tuesday Thoughts

We got another foot of snow from the recent snow storm. I am so ready for Spring!

The kids go back to school today. They had an extended vacation, since they had yesterday off because of the snow. They've had a lot of snow days. I think they've had at least 5 so far.

We were supposed to go to The American Girl store, in Massachusetts, over vacation. My daughter was all excited about American Girls at Christmas time, and we had planned to go there with my mother on their February vacation. All of a sudden my daughter isn't as excited over them anymore. And didn't want to go to the store. It didn't matter to me, but I thought my mother might be mad. My mother said it was ok, but I think she was, I guess, a little disappointed, we didn't go.

The American Girl stage is over (for now anyway). And now my daughter is crazy for "Littlest Pet Shop." She got this doll called VIP and you can play online with it. Similar to Webkinz. They have a scavenger hunt on there where you have to find items. We can not find all the items! Jeez! This game is supposed to be for kids, and I just spent 2 hours looking for the last item in this scavenger hunt and couldn't find it! I think there is a flaw in this game, or maybe me, for spending 2 hours looking for it!

Random Tuesday Thoughts

The kids are on vacation this week. Why when they have school I have to drag them out of bed? But on vacation they get up earlier then they even would when they have school!

Yesterday we went to Walmart. My daughter had brought a little toy of hers with her. She thought she had left it in the car. On the way home from the store she said she couldn't find it. When we got home I searched the whole car. I told her to look in her coat pockets. She said it wasn't in there. Against my better judgement, I drove all the way back to Walmart. I thought it may have fallen out of the car in the parking lot. I searched where we had parked, looking under other peoples cars. Felt kind of weird about doing that. Didn't find it. Came all the way back home and checked her coat pockets myself. And it was in one of the pockets!

I bought some toothpaste. I had tried a sample of Crest pro health toothpaste, and liked it. My son liked it too. When I got home I realized I had bought "cinnamon flavor!" I wanted regular flavor. Why do they make all these different flavors, and why does anyone want cinnamon flavor toothpaste? It's actually ok, but I don't think I'll buy it again.

Random Tuesday Thoughts - School Bus

This is my first time , but thought I'd join in.

• I am so mad right now! I just got back from my daughter's bus stop. It is starting to get like "Lord of the Flies" down at the bus stop. Why do these other kids that wait down there have to be such jerks?


• Why isn't there every any other parents waiting down there? Except me and one other lady, and her kid is the only other good kid down there.


• All the other kids that are jerks, of course their parents aren't any where in sight.


• Why do the kids have to start picking up tools,from the kids house that we stand in front of to wait for the bus? And literally pick up a pick ax and start hacking at the snow pile.


• And all these kids are picking away at the snow, flinging ice right in my daughter's face. And when I tell them to stop they look at me like I have two heads?


• Then when I point blank kind of yell at them to stop they still don't.


• And Oh yea, one Grandmother does wait down there, and her Grandson is one of the one's doing all this and she doesn't even stop him!


• And the only reason I have to wait at this bus stop, and not drive my daughter to school is because my husband's car is in the shop and he took my car, so I have no other way to get to school except walk 2 miles, which actually is sounding better and better.


• Maybe I should call the school about this, even though I know they probably won't even do anything about it!!
