Friday Photo Flashback #3

I'm really enjoying this meme. Because it is bringing back all kinds of memories for me. Thanks Alicia from More Than Words for hosting this meme.

I have been looking through old photo albums. This week I was looking through an album that was my Grandmother's. She was a great picture taker. And always recorded dates, names and all kinds of info. on the back of her pictures.

This is a picture of a house that was in my family for almost 100 yrs. This was taken in 1918. It originally belonged to my Great Grandparents, then my Grandparents lived there, and when I was first married I even lived there for 5 years. Unfortunately when my grandmother died, we had to sell this house (along with over 7 acres of land.) My family has a lot of memories of this place, it is bittersweet for me to think about it.

  3. Oh, I am so sorry this home had to leave your family. I can imagine that the memories would be bittersweet, truly. It is very pretty, however, and I appreciate you sharing it with us.

  9. Gorgeous place. I know what you mean about bittersweet. Our family tends to hang onto things too long and then they become a burden. Sometimes it is better to let them go while the memories are all still good.

  10. Stopping in from SITS! Wow, your grandmother was extremely organized with her pictures! I wish my older family was as organized. My great grandmother can never remember who is in her pictures anymore, let alone where or when they were taken.
