Book Review & Giveaway: Muffins and Mayhem - CLOSED

I was recently sent the book, "Muffins and Mayhem: Recipes for a Happy - if Disorderly - Life," written by Suzanne Beecher to review & offer a copy in a giveaway.

Information about the author:

Suzanne Beecher writes a daily column at DearReader.com and designs book clubs for publishers, booksellers, and libraries across the country.

Information on the book:

Suzanne Beecher
ISBN-13: 9781439112878
Publisher: Simon & Schuster Adult

Muffins and Mayhem was inspired by a reader who had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and was wondering how to leave a legacy to her children. Suzanne suggested a recipe box filled with memories and family stories. Helping this reader turned out to be a gift to Suzanne as well, and she decided to share the stories and recipes that help keep her grounded in today's unpredictable world.

My take on the book:

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I really got a kick out of some of the Author's stories. I love how she entwined her "recipes for life" (little antidotes and stories about her life), with real cooking recipes (such as Frosted Meatloaf or Shrimp Salad to name a few). I really want to try some of these recipes!

There are a lot of very unique stories in "Muffins and Mayhem." Only the Author could experience. But in numerous ways I could really relate to so many things in this book. One being the relationship with her mother. That really struck a cord with me.
