Alhoa Friday #5

An Island Life hosts this meme. Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

My question: While reading a book do you ever skip ahead to see what is going to happen? Or even read the last page?

My answer: I never used to do that. But I don't know what it is lately, but I have been skipping ahead to see what will happen in the story. I've got to stop doing that.

  1. Oh no! Never. I often times do not even read the book descriptions.

  2. No, that would just confuse me. lol

  3. I only skip ahead if I really dislike the book and do not want to finish. It gives me some sense of closure. :)

  4. I've only done it once or twice & hated it both times. I love to read but I can't look @ the end until I'm there.

  5. No and if I did it would ruin the story for me.

  6. I have to force myself not to look ahead when the plot gets tense. When the narration is boring, I skim a few pages. I can't stand to look at a page that has no paragraph breaks!

  7. No, I can't. I would feel too guilty and it would kind of ruin it for me.

  8. Never.. I just cant do it.. I sometimes want to but I cant!!

  9. The only time I've done that is when I really am not enjoying the book at all but I want to know what happens. I'll read the last chapter to find out what happens. I've only done that maybe twice.

  10. Never do that when I read something I want to. Of course, while in high school and college Cliff Notes helped me to read ahead ;)

  11. Yep, I'll admit it. I jump ahead and read the ending sometimes because I can't wait to find out!

  12. I don't but my wife does it ALL the time. She can't even watch a movie unless she reads the plot spoiler and knows what will happen.

  13. No! I have to read from front to back with NO peeking......I feel guilty otherwise!

  14. I never do that..but sometimes it is really hard not to!

  15. haha I am so guilty in this one!! I always skip to see the ending I don't know why.. even on movies.. I always ask someone what happens next even if i intend to watch the movie lol.

  16. It depends on the story.....if its slow I will peek. From there determine if I wanna continue reading or not....

  17. I always peak. I set out with every intention of not peaking and then I'll get to the middle when the plot starts reaching the "problem" or climax and then I give in a peak so I know whether or not to keep reading. One day I'll read a book and not peak.

  18. yes, I am guilty of doing that a few times in my day.. :) Happy VGNO!

  19. Yup. If a book isn't worth my time I skip to the last 3 chapters and just read that.

  20. Happy VGNO!

I rarely skip ahead in a book....

  21. No way. I want every word in the order the author intended it. If any of it is worth skipping, the whole book can be put aside. Happy VGNO.

  22. Usually I don't, but if the book is not keeping my attention I'll skip ahead and see if it gets any better...if it does, I'll continue on and not skip ahead again... ;)

  23. Thank you for stopping by my playground I do appreciate it. No when I read books I don't do that. Never have for some reason :) Aloha

  24. Happy VGNO !
If the book is poorly written but a good story I'll read the last page and get rid of it.

  25. Yeah when in a hurry, sometimes I can't just resist myself if the story is enticing!

  26. That depends. If I am not into the book I page ahead or even read the last page. If I am into the book. No way I gotta read every page. LOL

  27. Only if I'm getting bored with the book and want to see how it ends so I can put it away.

  28. No, I haven't skipped ahead. That would be cheating! ha ha

    Happy VGNO!
