The Best April Fool's Joke

Happy April Fool's Day

The best April Fool's Day joke ever involved me and my cat Licorice (pictured below -1982 - ugh to looking at me)

Fake Vomit (similiar to this- which you can purchase at Amazon)

And my sister Debbie (not pictured - and also my Father too)

Well anyway, my father had actually gotten some fake vomit I think for his birthday which is in March (have no idea why), and my cat would always throw up in the cellar bathroom.

For some reason my father was the one who always cleaned it up. So my sister and I on April Fool's day figured we would put the fake vomit in the bathroom and then tell him that cat had thrown up again. We thought he would see right through this and know it was the fake vomit, or at least once he picked it up (with paper towel) he would know.

But nope - he scooped up the vomit - plonked it in the toilet - and was just about to flush it.....

My sister and I were like NO!!! And stopped him just in time from flushing it.

Anyway, my sister and I were cracking up!

My father wasn't to happy though - especially if it had actually gone down the toilet - (being a plumber - he knew it would have clogged it all up)

We had just pulled off the best April Fool's Day Joke EVA! (at least in my mind anyway - lol)

Did you ever pull off a good April Fools joke or had one done on you?

Friday Photo Flashback

September 11th is a day of remembrance. Remembering what happened this day 8 years ago is in many of our minds.

It also makes me remember loved ones I have lost. Not on Sept. 11th, but at other times. Thinking of my Dad on this day, who passed away in 1993. He was a Shriners Clown. He would do a lot of activities with the Shriners and also visited sick children in the hospital.

Here's a picture of him as a Clown. He went by the name of "Bows." He had a few different looks over the years. Taken around 1984.

Happy Father's Day

6-21-2009 4;50;56 PM

This is a picture of my Dad, or technically "step-dad." But my sister's and I actually always called him by his first name - Lenny.

This isn't a very good picture of him, but the best I could do at short notice. Lenny was the best dad in the world. My mom married him when I think I was in 5th grade.

He was a man who wore many hats. He was a Korean War Veteran, a Fire Fighter, a Plumber, an Electrician, a Mason, A Shriner and a Shriner's Clown! (someday I'll post some pictures of him dressed as a Shriner's Clown). And so much more!

Sadly Lenny, passed away almost 16 yrs. ago from ALS - better known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. I miss him like crazy, I loved him so much.

So Father's Day is a little bitter-sweet for me. My husband had a good Father's day, and received gifts from the kids. But in the back of my mind I am always wishing my dad was here too.

Happy Father's day to all the Dad's out there!
