Three Ways to Feel More Healthy During the Pandemic

Depending on where you live and the actions taken by the authorities to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, you may have found that your life has been quite different in 2020. For a lot of people, things like lockdown and social distancing have meant that they are spending a lot less time out and about, and may not have been able to do the things they usually do to keep themselves feeling fit and healthy. If you have also switched to working or studying from home, you may have found it difficult to avoid things like getting into bad eating habits with snacks.

If you are concerned that you don't feel as healthy as usual, or that you are gaining weight, here are three ways to make small tweaks to your lifestyle during the current situation that will help to make you feel more like yourself.

Boost Your Diet With Healthy, Nutrient-Rich Smoothies and Juices

If you are prone to snacking while you are at home during the day more often, then a good thing to consider is switching to healthy snacks that will add a big nutritional boost to your diet. Smoothies made from fresh fruit and vegetables can be a great way to do this. They are fun to make and you can experiment with all kinds of things, including adding nuts and yogurt to add protein and calcium. You can use frozen fruit and vegetables, too, if you don't want to be going out to buy fresh produce regularly.

Invest in something like the  Vitamix e320 Explorian blender, and you can make all kinds of delicious and healthy fruit and vegetable blends.

Try Online Home Workouts

If your gym is closed or you are not able to take part in your normal fitness classes, then it can feel like you are losing muscle and gaining fat all the time, as well as feeling like your cardio is getting worse the more time you spend and away from your usual fitness regime. Luckily, there are all kinds of free workouts you can do using videos on YouTube. You can try all kinds of different exercise from dance-based workout routines, through to things like kickboxing, yoga and calisthenics.

Make Sure You Get Some Sunlight

If you are on lockdown, it can be very difficult to make sure you are getting enough vitamin D. If you have a yard or even a balcony, then make sure you spend a little bit of time in sunlight every day to ensure you are producing enough of this important vitamin. It can certainly also be worth taking vitamin supplements to ensure you avoid any deficiencies.

We don’t yet know how long things like restrictions on where we can go, and places being closed will last, and so if you are in an area where there are strict limits at the moment, it can be frustrating and difficult to keep up your normal healthy lifestyle. However, with a little bit of care, you can feel fresh and healthy, and even avoid gaining weight, even if you are under lockdown.
