Book Review & Giveaway: Resurrecting Anthony: A True Story of Courage & Destination- ENDED!

Resurrecting Anthony: A True Story of Courage and Destination

I recently received a book to review & offer in a giveaway. The book is called  Resurrecting Anthony: A True Story of Courage & Destination, by Linda & Tony Cole.

Here is some info. about the book:

On September 8, 1998, their son Anthony Cole had a heart attack – at age 12. During the four to five minutes it took paramedics to resuscitate him, Anthony’s brain was deprived of oxygen, resulting in global traumatic brain injury. Now 25 years old, Anthony is living under the constant care of his family, plus a dedicated team of healthcare professionals in and out of the home. In RESURRECTING ANTHONY: A True Story of Courage & Destination, Anthony’s parents share the incredible journey they have taken to accept a new life and family, all while keeping a successful business afloat and raising their daughter Alex.

The book also includes helpful “Toolbox” or takeaways for living through crisis which includes organizational advice for dealing with the maze and mountain of paperwork that results from hospital and insurance bills. It also has an indispensible directory of resources that includes contact info for groups such as: Brain Injury Association of America and the National Association of the State Directors of Developmental Disabilities.  For more information please go to www.resurrectinganthony.com

My take on the book:

As a parent you always worry about your kids and wonder what if something awful happened to them. That is not all this book is about though! This book is a very inspirational book and shows you what you can do if something like this ever happened.

Resurrecting Anthony: A True Story of Courage & Destination, by Linda & Tony Cole, is an emotional book that shows the parents feelings as they deal with their sons decline. The book shows someone who suffers with a medical issue. This will really pull at your heart strings! But it will also inspire you and lift you up, to see parents as devoted as they are! This story is so powerful and motivational!

  16. One cannot ever really understand such things, the determination and, most of all, the heartache for the family. Surely, it’s God’s grace, with the love of family, whose presence binds their lives together as one. It’s indeed an incredible life journey for them. In the selfless giving of their world, it helps others. God bless you.

  17. My husband who has had Parkinson's for the past 28 years inspires me. He took a bad fall down our cellar stairs about 5 years ago and fractured his neck in 4 places. He fought back from that, but age and health issues are creeping up on him. He still seems to enjoy life, with only limited abilities. God is Good!
