Healthy Initiative for Kids This Halloween

Good nutrition is always important for kids. And it is really important during the Halloween season. With all the candy and other treats around this time of year, it can be hard to keep a balance.

Well that is where the blog Trick or Treat Me can help. They have some great tips on keeping kids healthy this Halloween. There are some really good nutrition tips on their blog.

They are also having a great initiative that is good for the environment too. You can use the application called Trick Or Treat Me . And you can send one of your Twitter friends either a trick or a treat. It is really easy to do and fun too. Also the cool thing about it is that for every time you send out a trick or treat,Trick Or Treat Me on Twitter, will donate 10 cents to the World Wildlife Fund. I just sent out a couple of tweets, it's very easy to do, and I feel good that I helped the World Wildlife Fund.

This application is sponsored by Tetra Pak, which has great chocolate milk. These chocolate milk cartons would also make a great treat for Halloween. You can serve these right out of the box, and they would make a convenient on the go treat for kids.

Check out the blog & the Trick or Treat app., it's a great initiative to keep kids healthy this Halloween! And help out a good cause at the same time.

A Thousand Words Thursday - Red Sox Bear

Short of burning all our Red Sox gear (due to their horrible showing in the play-offs), we decided to make a bear/scarecrow. Here is the bear/scarecrow we came up with:

He only lasted one day though, because it rained on him all the next day. And my daughter didn't want the bear to get ruined. So we'll have to come up with something different this weekend.

Think Pink With Cryo-Cell

As I'm sure you are well aware of, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Many people have been affected by this disease. Either themselves, friends or family may have been affected.

Well now there is some good news in breast cancer research. Cryo-Cell International is partnering with National Institutes of Health (NIH). They are exploring the potential use of menstrual stem cells to treat breast cancer. They are working hard on their partnership that is underway. They hope to find a better understanding how C'elle stem cells can benefit the treatment of breast cancer.

Stem cells from menstrual blood have been shown to be a rich source of stem cells. In fact they have been the source of extensive stem cell research. There is aggressive research and development in this area. Industry experts expect that C'elle stem cells will be the frontier in diagnostic and regenerative medicine.

For Breast Cancer Awareness month Cryo-Cell will be making a C'Elle Breast Cancer Donation. The Cyro-Cell Breast Cancer Donation will be going to the Susan B. Komen Foundation. They will donate $50 from each purchase of the "Protect Baby, Protect Mom" service. And $25 for each purchase of the "C'elle Menstrual Stem Cell" service.

To learn more about Cryo-Cell and stem cell research, please visit their website. And to learn more about how they are helping in the fight against breast cancer, visit their site as well.
