Walk & Make a Difference with BeeWell Miles

Recently I was asked to participate in a campaign called BeeWell Miles . Which is a great program sponsored by Bumble Bee Foods. They are donating $0.15, to Breast Cancer research, for every mile logged. The campaign runs from 4/1/09-10/31/09. And the money will go to the charity called Breast Cancer Network of Strength.

I was very excited to be able to start taking part in this program. I must admit I am not a big exerciser. As far as working out at a gym and the like. But the one form of exercise I have always loved is walking. When I wanted to lose weight before I got married, I walked. When I wanted to lose weight after my pregnancies, I walked.

I love the freedom of walking outdoors, and at the same time getting some exercise. Saturday I decided to head out for a walk. It actually was a bit cold out and pretty windy out, but I didn't let that stop me. Below is a picture my daughter took of me before I headed out for my walk.

I borrowed my husband's ipod, put on my walking shoes, and tried out my new pedometer. When I was done I had walked a little over 2 miles! Today I registered at BeeWellMiles.com and logged in my miles. As I mentioned they are donating $0.15 for every mile that is logged in. So just think what a difference I could make if I walked 2 miles a day. I would be doing my part to help in the fight against Breast Cancer and getting some great exercise too.

If you want to join in I encourage you to visit BeeWellMiles.com. There you can sign up for an account. You can log in your miles, find out how many calories you are burning, share your favorite walking route with others. You can even enter your meals, and figure out your caloric intake. And there is a lot of other things you can do on the website. Check it out today, and do your part!

Camera Critters - Deer

Here's a picture that was taken a few years ago. It is at one of my favorite zoos, called York Wild Animal Park. It is in York, Maine. I love this zoo, because unlike most zoos they actually allow you to feed a lot of the animals.

One section of the zoo has deer, they run around in an enclosed area. You can get really upclose to them and feed them too!

Protect Your Family and Your Home

Growing up, there was a couple instances of someone breaking or trying to break into our house. One time, some teenagers broke into our house and stole some money in the house.

Another time, my sister had a bad break-up. There was some fears that her ex would try to break in, I think he may have even tried at one point. In those instances we sure wish we had a wireless security system. It is a very scary situation when someone breaks into your house or attempts too. But you can have peace of mind if you have a good security system.

Now that I am a home owner, with a family of my own, I am even more concerned with protecting my family and home. I would be interested in a good home security system. I found a website called Protect America, that has some great wireless security systems.

One package they have is the Copper Package. For $29.95 a month, you get: a talking control panel, 1 motion detector, 3 entry points, internal siren, and a lot of other features too. You can find out more about the Copper Package and other packages by visiting the Protect America website.

If you are interested in a wireless security system, I encourage you to visit Protect America. And if you call this toll free number: 877-470-2751, you will get two key chain remotes with your order.
