Photo Hunters 25 ~ Yellow

When I saw that the theme this week was yellow, this picture came to mind:

Duck!

This is a picture of my son, on his I think 5th birthday party (he's 12 now). My sister gave him this cute yellow ducky umbrella. He really loved this yellow umbrella and I remember took quite a few pictures with it. Posing for everyone with it while they took a bunch of pictures.

Photo Hunters 24"Nautical"

This week's theme is "nautical." We like to go camping in the summer. And get away from all the electronics. While we're there, we like to take out the canoe on the lake. Here's a picture of the kids in the canoe.

Photo Hunters 23 "Bridges"

Here's a collage of pictures I took this past fall. This bridge reminds me of my grandmother. The reason being, this is the bridge we drove over to visit her house. We lived about an hour away from her, growing up. And would have to drive over this bridge to get to her house.

Now I actually live a lot closer to where this bridge is. And usually am driving over it, not going under it. But last fall after a lot of rain, I wanted to go down to look at the river. We walked down to see how fast the river was flowing. And I took these shots of the bridge.

Photo Hunter's - Wide

This weeks Photo Hunter's theme is "Wide." This may be a "wide" stretch for the theme, but here is a "wide" selection of pictures I haven't had a chance to post yet. (Is it me or are these themes getting harder?)

Anyway picture number one is the tree that fell across the street and knocked down a "wide" array of wires along with it. This recent ice storm you could say was also a pain in my "wide" butt!

Picture number two is my Christmas Tree. That I can "widely" enjoy now that we have electricity again.

And the last picture is of my "Wide" array of lights I have outside my house. That I can also "Widely" enjoy again now that the electricity is back on.

Now that my lights are back on, I still have a "wide" amount of Christmas Shopping to do. Including some personalized books I want to pick up for the kids.

Hope you have a great Saturday and Happy Holidays everyone!

Photo Hunters 21 "Breakfast"

This weeks Photo Hunters theme is "breakfast." My daughter loves Santa and visits him every year to sit on his lap. She still wants to go this year, even though she's 8 soon to be 9. And a few times we have gone to some "breakfast's" with Santa.

Here's a few pictures from last year's "breakfast" with Santa at our local YMCA.

Photo Hunters - Metal

Today's Photo Hunters theme is "metal." Here is a carousel that is made out of metal. This is at a place called "Fun World." In the city where I live. It is an arcade place where they also have birthday parties. Both my kids had parties there a few years ago.

This metal carousel is actually really cool. It is a 2 level carousel! You can go up some stairs and go on the top to ride it too. That is my son & sister in the picture riding it at my daughter's birthday party two years ago.

Photo Hunters - Reflection

This weeks Photo Hunters theme is "Reflection." Here is a picture of my sister and I on my wedding day. The photographer had my sister and I look in the mirror on my mother's vanity. Here is our "reflections" as we look into the mirror.

Photo Hunters "Ruined"

This weeks theme is "ruin(ed)." This is another hard one. I scoured my pictures trying to find something that was "ruined." Could hardly find anything. Came across this old picture of my mothers cat "Pumpkin" who would sit up in my mom's plant. After a while the cat pretty much "ruined" the plant.

Photo Hunters 135 (17) "Together"

This weeks Photo Hunt theme is "together." Hope you're not sick of pictures of my kids, because here's a few more. I dug through my box of pictures, and found some cute pictures of my kids "together" when they were little. I scanned these pictures onto the computer. Because these were all taken before digital cameras. Looking at these gives me mixed emotions. I love seeing how cute they were when they were little, but a little sad at how fast they are growing up. They are now 12 and 8 yrs old!

Here they are "together" over the years:

Photo Hunt 134 (16) "Blue"

This weeks Photo Hunters theme is "blue." Here's some pictures at the top of Mount Monadnock in NH. We climbed to the top 2 summers ago. It is said to be the second most frequently climbed mountain in the world. Second only to Japan's Mt. Fuji. You can also see all six New England States from the top.

Let me just tell you it was one of the most difficult things I have ever done! And my family and I decided we may not be cut out for mountain climbing! But the view from the top was awesome. And the sky was so "blue!"

Photo Hunters 133 (15) "Scary"

This weeks theme is "scary." At first I almost skipped this one. But then I thought of a place we went to last weekend. It's called the "Yankee Siege" and they have a big catapult machine that flings pumpkins. My son took these pictures of the castle they have there, and a big wrecking ball. He didn't get a picture of the big catapult machine though.

You could go into the castle. This place was pretty cool. The pumpkin flinging was cool. What is "scary" about it then, you ask. The "scary" part was when we were about to leave, my son went to look at this big front gate they had. I didn't see it actually happen, but he fell into a shaft in the gate. He fell pretty far down this shaft, and scraped his leg up and really bruised it. He was very "scared." We finally saw him in this shaft (for lack of a better word) and pulled him out. He was pretty shaken up. I was "scared" he had broken his leg. He just got pretty banged up. He is ok now. It pretty much put a damper on our previously fun day. I won't be going back there anytime soon. It was pretty "scary."

Photo Hunters 132 (14) "Family"

This weeks theme is "Family." This should be easy right? Well if you're like me, the one who usually takes all the pictures, then it's hard to find to many with yourself in it. And one with all of you in the picture. Also not only do I take most of the pictures, I actually don't really like to be in the pictures.

Well anyway here's a couple pictures of me and my "family."

The "Family" after a hike in Franconia Notch, NH

And here's another one of the "family" in Hollywood Studios, Disney World.

Happy Photo Hunting!

Photo Hunters 131 (13) "Lazy"

Today's Photo Hunters theme is "lazy." I knew what I would do for this one right away. What came to mind was my cat Buttercup, who is the "laziest" thing I know.

Here's another shot of her. Doesn't she look pretty fat & "lazy??"

Happy Photo Hunting!

Photo Hunters (12 ) 130 "Sad"

This weeks Photo Hunt theme is "sad." Here is a picture of my "sad" vegetable garden. These are my cherry tomato, and tomato plants. They look pretty "sad." And I know that it is fall now and you would expect that, but although they looked a little better in the summer, it was not by much. We had so much rain here this summer that my plants didn't fair very well.

Here is some "sad" pictures of my tomatoes. I only got a few more during the summer that are even pictured here. This is about as much as I got, and as you can see, the "sad" part is I even had to pick them green and they are not very big. So that was my "sad" vegetable garden for the summer. I hope it will be better next summer.

Photo Hunters (11) 129 "View"

Today's Photo Hunters theme is "view." This was the "view" from my house this summer. After a rain storm the sun came out. I happened to go outside and look up to see this beautiful rainbow. These pictures don't do it justice.

I was lucky to see two rainbows this summer. On two different occasions I got a "view" of a rainbow. After not seeing one in years, I couldn't believe when I saw two in one summer.

Photo Hunters (10 ) 128 "Road"

This weeks Photo Hunters Theme is "road." These are some pictures I took a couple of weeks ago, at the same time I took last weeks "Wild" pictures.

This was at the same park: Mine Falls Park. I guess the tree got knocked down after the heavy rains from the night before (due to Hurricane Hanna.) It was right in the middle of the "road." It must have just happened because it was blocking the "road," which is actually one of the entrances to the park. I'm sure someone has cleared it out by now.

Photo Hunters 127 (9) "Wild"

Today's Photo Hunters theme is "wild." Here are some pictures I took last weekend. It is of a wild river. This is the river that runs through the city were I live. It's the Nashua River. Besides running through the city, it also goes through a really nice park where you can walk. The park is called the Mine Falls Park. It is a 325 acre park that includes forest, wetlands, and open fields. My family and I love walking in there on the weekends.

The Nashua River was wild last Sunday because of the heavy rains we had the night before. It was from the remnants of Hurricane Hanna. I bet it will be pretty wild again after Hurricane Ike comes through, I think on Monday.
