Anniversary

I haven't posted too many personal things on here in a long time. Something really devastating happened to me a year ago. A year ago, November 1st my wonderful amazing loving husband of 25 years passed away.

After a very short diagnosis of a certain heart condition he passed away in his sleep. Late in the month of July 2019 he was diagnosed with this and approx. 3 1/2 months later, when he was actually managing this condition and seemed to be doing ok, he suddenly must of had a heart attack in the night.

I have been really depressed this past year, and especially in the times we are in now. it has been really tough.

Here is what I recently posted on Facebook:

this pic actually was taken on our 15th wedding Anniversay:

I can't believe it's been a year ago today since we lost you 🙁
A year since I told you I love you, since I gave you a hug, since I gave you a kiss goodnight. Life is not the same without you.
And I (& the kids) 💖💞 love and miss you so much ❤️💓💞

Husband Pics

Sorry for my lack of posting lately. I say this every July - but typically this is the slowest month for blogging for me - I'm lucky if I do 6 to 10 posts all month.

On top of the that my Sister is visiting from Massachusetts this week. So I'm busy this week. Will try to post more soon.

My husband lately is the only one who even wants to pose for pictures. Remember I wrote about How to Train Your Dragon 2 - well we actually went to see that recently. We saw it at an Imax theater and it was cool because my husband with his eyesight actually never could see 3-D - but the Imax he could see the effects.

I have some reviews to post & should be posting more soon! Have a great day guys! How is your summer going?

WW #76 "Daughter and Dad"

Here's another picture taken on our Apple Picking trip. It was 3 1/2 weeks ago since we went. And believe it or not we did go through all 30 lbs. of apples already. Mostly in apple pies.

We were supposed to go again last Saturday with my daughter's school, but it rained all day. And we didn't feel like going in the rain. We may go again this weekend.

This is my daughter and my husband. Also if you could please keep my husband in your thougths. At 2:30 this afternoon, he is having surgery for kidney stones. It is a routine surgery and he should be fine. But I'm still worried.

WW #59 "Happy Anniversary"

Today is my 15th Wedding Anniversary! I can't believe it was 15 years ago today that I got married. Wow time flies.

I was going to dig up one of my wedding photos to post. But we went fishing on Saturday and I like this picture. My husband caught a pretty good bass. And to me this epitomizes my husband right now, more then one of our wedding photos.
(don't worry we throw the fish back)

A First in at least 35 Years

My husband had a major accomplishment today. He went 24 hours without a cigarette! This is he said probably the first time since he started smoking that he has ever done that.

He started smoking at only 13 years old. That is hard to believe! But in the almost 17 years that I have known him, he has tried to stop smoking a few times but has never gone a whole day without at least one cigarette. Today he actually did it! I'm so happy for him. It has been tough on him, but I guess this Chantix is actually working!

The Latest on Husband's Health

Another quick update about my husband's health. He has been struggling to quit smoking since my last update. He has been using the nicotine patch and still will sneak a few cigarettes. Today he said he only had one.

But today he got a prescription for Chantix, which is a pill that is supposed to be very affective in quitting. I know some people who have had success with it. He actually received it for free through a program he go into. So that is also cool, since it costs like $130.00 for a months prescription.

In order to get it free he had to see another doctor. This doctor said she was sceptical about the COPD diagnosis. She said he doesn't have that and if he did they wouldn't have put him on this particular inhaler he his on. She said they would have put him on one that is different for COPD. I think the original doctor may have over embellished my husband's diagnosis.

Anyway, one way or the other, he should and will do his best to try to quit smoking. Since he doesn't want it to develop in any way into COPD.

Update on Husband's Health

My husband found out last week that he has the very early signs of COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.) He has to use an inhaler (for an undertermined amount of time) 2 times a day.

And he has stopped smoking. This is the number one cause of COPD. He is using the nicotine patch and has been doing pretty well on it so far. He has no choice now but to stop smoking or in 10 or more years he will get worse and won't be able to breath without oxygen. That's what the doctor told him.

He is going back to the doctors in 3 weeks to get an update on how his condition is. This was a very stressful week of finding out he needed a catscan to look at his lungs and then waiting to find out the results. And then to hear he has the very early stages of COPD. I really hope he sticks with the quitting smoking. I'm praying he can do it!

After this stressful week, I need a stay at one of the
luxury hotel rooms somewhere!

Husband's Health

My husband went to get some tests done last week. He had a chest x-ray done, blood tests and even had a stress test done. He was mostly worried about the stress test. But he received the results from that right away. His heart is fine. He passed the stress test no problem. I hope the other tests come out fine too. He will find out the results of those later this week. He is putting a little more thought into his health, because "gasp" he will turn 50 in April.

Now I hope he will consider losing some weight and quit smoking soon! I want him to be around for another 50 yrs! He has been pretty healthy minus a few accidents. About 3 months before our wedding he was in a car accident and broke his arm.

And before I even knew him, he was in a pretty severe motorcyle accident. He was going through an intersection riding a motorcycle and someone ran a red light and plowed right into him. His leg and foot were severely injured. He had surgery and for awhile they really thought he might lose part of his leg, at least from the foot down. Luckily that didn't happen and he was able to keep his foot. His foot and ankle still bother him sometimes, even about 20 yrs after the accident.

He didn't even have good motorcycle accident attorneys. Because he didn't end up getting that much money out of the whole thing. He was out of work for over a year due to it, and could have really used the money. Let's just say he got kind of screwed in the whole thing. But luckily his health is good. And I really hope we get good news from the Doctor later this week. I don't know why I'm so worried about it. I just really wish mostly he would quit smoking!
