Looking At The Sky On Friday #15 & VGNO

Photobucket

The other night, while I was watching the American Idol finale, I looked out my front door. I saw a lot of pink in the sky so I snapped some pictures.

Bad news - Adam did not win. I said I would not get upset no matter who won, but I lied. I am still upset that Adam didn't win!

Good news - I won 3 different blog giveaways this week! One was the giveaway from Ann, another is for a candle and goats milk soap, and the one I just found out last night is a Pepsi Throwback Giveaway! Which has $150 worth of stuff from Pepsi! I'm so excited!

Anyway here's my pink sky picture:

Hope everyone has a nice Memorial Day weekend. We are just hanging around and maybe plant some tomatoes. And my daughter is going to march in the parade with her Brownie Troop on Monday.

Looking At The Sky On Friday

This picture was taken at a place called "Wildlife Pond." We went there last Sunday on Mother's Day. That was our first time visiting there. It was really nice there and I want to go back!

When my husband asked me what I wanted to do on Mother's Day, I said go for a "nature walk" somewhere. Call me crazy, but that is what I like to do. So that is one of the things we did that day.

Beaver Brook Spring Revisited

Winter has come and gone
Hopefully Spring is here to stay
These photos remind me

I took the above pictures at Beaver Brook again. Remember when I had shown some pictures there before? There was still snow on the ground last time I went there. I went back last weekend and Spring has arrived.

Looking at the Sky on Friday

Yesterday, after dinner, my daughter went out to ride her bike. Before she left she said it was raining. It had just started and only lasted for a few minutes. The sun then came out.

A few minutes later my daughter came running back in the house. And was yelling, "Mommy come quick, grab your camera. There's a rainbow outside!" She was all excited. I panicked and ran around crazy trying to find my camera.

Luckily I found it and got these pictures! I took about 10 pictures but I think these two came out the best. Which doesn't really do the rainbow justice, it was a full arc one. And was so bright. It is hard to really capture, but I tried. I love rainbows!

Looking at the Sky on Friday ~ Flag

Here's a couple of pictures I took last week. I took these at the park, where the kids like to ride their bikes. It was a rather windy day again. The flag was really blowing in the wind.

MINE FALLS PARK
(click to see larger image on flickr)

This is a picture I took at another one of my favorite places. It is called "Mine Falls Park." There are walking and biking trails. The Nashua River runs through it and there is a Canal. In the 1700s there was a working Canal system there.

I love walking in this park! This is a view of the Nashua River.

Looking at the Sky on Friday - 9

This was taken at a park called "Lincoln Park." This park has a little of everything. Such as baseball fields, playground, a bike path, and a soccer field. The kids like to ride their scooters or bikes on the path.

And this is the shot I took overlooking the soccer field:

Looking at the sky on Friday ~ 8

I received a Canon Power Shot camera from my husband. A couple of weeks ago it was my birthday and I wanted an "upgrade" on my digital camera. So I was excited last weekend to really try it out.

It was a nice day, last Sunday, although a little chilly with somewhat of a wind. We went to the park, and a family was flying a kite. I got a few shots of the kite up in the air.

Looking at the Sky on Friday #7

Taken at Greenwood State Park, NH. Where we go camping every summer. We like to go down to the beach one last time, later in the day. To go swimming, and also it's great because usually there is no one else there.

Last weekend was so nice out. Close to 60 degrees, unfortunately it didn't last, as we got 6 inches of snow Monday! But we decided to take advantage of the nice weather and go for a walk. We went to one of my favorite places called "Beaver Brook." I have literally been going there since I was a little girl with my Grandmother. I love going there and walking in the woods. Click Here for more info. (which I just learned there are over 2,000 acres there!)

Here's some pictures I took from our walk. Which actually ended up being more like a 2 hour hike! The sky looks a little gloomy in these pictures, but it was so warm out!

The following pictures were taken on top of Mount Monadnock. My husband, 2 kids, my sister and her boyfriend, and I all climbed it 2 summers ago. There are 100-mile views to points in all six New England states. Mount Monadnock is said to be the second most frequently climbed mountain, second to Japan's Mt. Fuji.

I took this on Wednesday of this week. It was so nice out! It reached 60 degrees here. It was like Spring. It was so sunny that it finally started to melt some of the snow off of our roof.

This picture was taken in the summer on a lake called "Otter Lake." We go camping there every year. And like to go down to the beach at sunset. Oh, how I wish it was summer and I was there now!
