The Importance of Dental Records
It is not a pleasant thought to think about using dental records to identify a deceased person. But it is an important part of law enforcement. And without it the remains of some deceased would not be properly identified.
Right now the national average for collection of the dental records for missing persons by local and state law enforcement agencies is around 4%. Sadly, this means that many are not properly identified. And the families of those deceased never receive closure, and also in cases of foul play, can lead to murderers going free.
The FBI has certified 300 dentists in the US for processing and NCIC coding of dental records for law enforcement purposes. Dr. Jodi Danna is a cosmetic dentist in Plano, TX who is one of 10 dental volunteers in the Dallas area that are certified for this work. Dr. Danna offers this as free service to both law enforcement agencies and families of missing persons.
I know this is not something pleasant to think about. And hopefully something that never has to be dealt with in your life. But it is nice to know there are Dentists offering this important service to law enforcement agencies.

Booyah! Red Sox Win!
I know you're probably sick of me talking about the Red Sox, but it's not over yet! I actually thought I would be writing a post this morning talking about how they lost. And that they were out of the race. But NO!! Luckily they won last night 8-7! I'm so excited!
According to the statistics, last night was the second best comeback in post season history. The first was way back in 1929, when the Philadelphia A's overcame an 8 run deficit to beat the Cubs 10-8 in Game 4 of the World Series.
That means the Red Sox's amazing 8-7 victory on Thursday night against the Tampa Bay Rays was merely the second-best comeback in postseason history, as they overcame a 7-0 deficit to win.
Ye of little faith (which is me.) I even emailed a friend (who is a big fan too) to basically concede defeat when we were losing 7-0. Then next thing you know it is 7-2. I IM'd him and said "Do we have a chance?" A few minutes later he replied and said "Of course we do." I'm not sure if he really believed it. But next thing you know it is 7-4! We were coming back. I let my friend go, saying I'll email you tomorrow "if" we win. He said "when" we win.
Well we won! 8-7 in a walk off single by JD Drew in the bottom of the 9th! Now we have to win the next two in Tampa Bay. Hey, we did it on '04 and in '07!
I emailed my friend this morning and said "I guess miracles do happen." Now all we need is two more miracles!

A Bible Verse to Live By
One of my favorite Bible verses is from 1 Corinthians 13. Here is a piece of it: Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
There is more to it but that is a section of it. To Find out more on this verse, check 1 Corinthians 13. I have always loved this verse. I even had this read at my wedding. As did both my sisters at their weddings. This is really a Bible verse to live by. Love is patient, love is kind. I really believe that, and try to live by that.
CineMeetings & Events is having their first annual Theater Church Conference. Find out more if you would like to attend the conference in Silver Springs, MD. The conference will be October 22-23, 2008. This event will bring together respected thought leaders, pastors and church leaders from the nation’s most innovative growing churches.
1 Corinthians 13 is my favorite Bible verse, and it would be interesting to go to a conference were you could worship, and discuss this and other Bible verses. If you want to Find out more on how you can attend this meeting then click the link to visit the website.
