They need to be taken care of. They need someone at all times. If you go away you have to have someone take care of the dog. They are MUCH harder than cats. :)Upstatemammahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16862359333933751151noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3310027641881787556.post-77548963281772234352010-04-02T22:16:58.355-04:002010-04-02T22:16:58.355-04:00My husband hunts and we've had a chocolate lab...My husband hunts and we've had a chocolate lab and a black lab. I know that we may think about it one day when we have a larger house. My fear are vet bills, cost of special foods (know a lot of people who's dogs can not eat regular food), grooming, and who to care for the dog when we go away. Good luck with your decision.Beth @ TheAngelForeverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11656102800736469480noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3310027641881787556.post-50505356055148166352010-04-02T21:12:39.605-04:002010-04-02T21:12:39.605-04:00Thanks for hoping over to my blog from Friday Foll...Thanks for hoping over to my blog from Friday Follow, I am already following you:)

And of course you should get a dog. As far as getting a dog I don't think you'll regret. I had a black lab for 16 yrs. We loved her immensely. We got her at the Dog Shelter in our community. I only paid $10, and I believe it was $20 for a license. She was the best dog I ever had. I went there in mind to get a barker when she heard a noise & she did all that & more. She also protected us. I would get a protector.XmasDollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12522593766351118819noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3310027641881787556.post-50356879933525523582010-04-02T20:22:01.573-04:002010-04-02T20:22:01.573-04:00We usually get our pets from the Humane Soceity bu...We usually get our pets from the Humane Soceity but they usually don't have pure breeds there unless you're lucky.kailanihttp://islandlife808.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3310027641881787556.post-49351342871936786682010-04-02T20:16:26.480-04:002010-04-02T20:16:26.480-04:00I'm not a dog person, so I would say it's ...I'm not a dog person, so I would say it's never OK to get a dog. I'll be nice though...Take the time to learn about dogs and various breeds. Decide as parents if it's a good idea to get a dog, then discuss it with your children. Recognize that taking care of the dog will end up being your responsibility no matter what the children say. I'd go with a shelter because there's so many unwanted animals.ConnieFoggleshttp://brainfoggles.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3310027641881787556.post-48413611639634017112010-04-02T18:26:52.062-04:002010-04-02T18:26:52.062-04:00sorry can not help you with this we do have a mini...sorry can not help you with this we do have a mini pincher and love him but they are not for everyoneannies homehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14583996787641143024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3310027641881787556.post-5777000144537189102010-04-02T16:06:20.113-04:002010-04-02T16:06:20.113-04:00My thought on getting a dog is #1 as long as every...My thought on getting a dog is #1 as long as everyone is ok with getting a dog. If your spouse doesn't want a dog and you get it, it doesn't go over well. Its sort of like surprising your spouse with a kid (I said sort of). I say that because there is a lot of time and care that goes into owning a dog. As for where to get the dog I would say the best place would be the humane society to adopt a dog.Weblate Designhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00948205286606211140noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3310027641881787556.post-49133152391442762002010-04-02T13:48:15.165-04:002010-04-02T13:48:15.165-04:00Have a great Easter!!Have a great Easter!!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08334737535672038796noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3310027641881787556.post-16906529656611637662010-04-02T12:32:53.136-04:002010-04-02T12:32:53.136-04:00At first I would say NO avoid the dog.
