How to Design an Interior for the Bold and the Beautiful

If you currently live on the coast or would like to makeover your home into an outrageous and daring retreat, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t do it! Start designing by thinking outside the box and stop being so traditional – there’s plenty of fun colors and bouncy patterns to experiment with. So roll out the red carpet with modern table lamps, floral pillows, and bright wall coloring and develop a Hollywood home that will shake up your space.
One element that'll tie it all together
First, come up with the main color that will tie the room together. If you love white, then incorporate white through a two seater sofa, ottomans, and side tables. White will break up the bold colors that will come from a striped wall that has an array of colors such as red, green, and black. Keep in mind though that white is hard to stay clean, so you may want to incorporate sofa covers that are washable and two-tone ottomans so that you won’t have to worry about cleaning.
Beautiful and durable flooring
When you live at the beach sometimes having wood or porcelain wood-textured tiles is the way to go. The idea is to opt for flooring that can sustain the wear and tear from daily trips to the beach and still look beautiful. Of course, a lot of the durability also depends on you – take care of your floors and invest in quality flooring that won’t wear down easily. Finding a reliable company such as JC Floors Plus will help you have the flooring of your dreams and that will seamlessly blend in with your beach home’s décor and elements.
Modern table lamps
Geometric table lamps with square bases will add a modern appeal to your living room space. Place them on top of your side tables by your white sofas and enjoy a modern display of appealing décor pieces. Continue to decorate your home with extra modern and daring pieces. This will develop an arrangement that will calm your showy wallpaper that will pop out in the background.
Floral pillows for a playful interior
To finish off a fun and fabulous interior, add floral pillows to your living room space. Place them on your white sofas and they will break your rule of traditional and classic decorating. When you walk into the interior, you’ll definitely love your bold and beautiful wall, but the floral pillows will also create a bold focal point. Enjoy your new space and don’t be afraid to color outside the lines to create a bold and intrepid space.
Modern elements for a peaceful retreat
You can still have a modern home at the beach, it just depends on how you decorate. Many modern beach owners opt for a modern home with eye-catching art that doesn’t necessarily focus on the beach, but draws you in. Post-modern artwork from nearby galleries may be just what you need in your living room, whereas in your entry way you may want to consider a wooden bench that guests can sit down on and take off their shoes.

Making a Chic Living Room That’s Fully Functional

During the spring and summertime it’s nice to head outdoors and get plenty of fresh air, but sometimes it’s just overwhelmingly hot! When it’s too hot outside, it’s definitely time to come indoors and cool off. Part of feeling comfortable and cool in a home is having a family friendly living room.
From creating enough space to having a versatile activity area for every family member, it’s sometimes challenging fitting everything into a single living room. Whether you’re getting ready to put your house on the market or create more space for the family, there’s a way to do just that. And, even after the improvements are made and the house isn’t getting sold as quickly as you’d like, I was able to sell my house fast in Dallas and you should hopefully be able to do the same.
In the mean time ere are some tips to making a living room livable and accessible so that the living room in your soon to be sold home will be fully functional. Everyone will be thrilled to come inside to a chic and cool living room when it’s too warm outside.
Different seating areas
If a family has children who like to have fun away from the grown ups, why not set up different seating areas? There can be a main seating area for the adults that include a stylish sofa and coffee table, and there can also be another seating area for the younger kids, such as some chairs and a table in the corner where the kids can play games or have fun on their cell phones. There is a way to make an interior versatile so that everyone will have space and enjoy a trendy living room simultaneously.
Easy storage room
If you are concerned about making a living room too cluttered, it’s time to invest in practical storage that will essentially hide elements that usually get left out, such as blankets, remote controls, and other supplies. This will also tidy up the space for potential buyers. Find storage footstools that have the perfect amount of space for all living room accessories and create a clean looking space that isn’t cluttered looking. Now there will be more space for important things like furniture, a small desk area, and a personal seating area for the kids.
Incorporate a small desk area
If the living room is large enough or there is another room that’s near it, include a desk area in that space. For smaller children, it’s a good idea to have a small office area in a living room so you can keep your eyes on them. But for larger children that don’t need supervision having a small office space nearby the living room will work too. The idea is to keep kids entertained while still being able to enjoy their presence. Creating a versatile living room that’s still organized and trendy, thus creating the ideal space.
Having different stations that allow different family members to cool down and socialize simultaneously will be the perfect solution to catching up with friends and family during those hot summer days. So come into an organized space and cool down! Potential home buyers will love that there’s an area for everyone to relax or socialize.

Blog Tour: HIS BALLERINA BRIDE with #giveaway

Hey everyone! the next book in the Historical Harlequin tour is called His Ballerina Bride, by Teri Wilson.

How to Use an Unfinished Basement

Do you watch television shows and films that feature kids playing and adults having fun in a finished basement and wish that you could use your own basement in the same way? Many homes have unfinished basements with cinder block walls and cold floors. You might use that space for storage or as a laundry room and nothing else. With the help of professional contractors, you can finish that basement and make a space perfect for your kids and their friends, a home office, spare bedroom or even home gym. You just need to know what to do with that space.

Waterproof the Room

Waterproofing the basement should be your first step. If you seldom venture down those stairs, you may not realize the amount of water that seeps in through the walls and floors every time it rains. Basement waterproofing experts can seal the room and stop those leaks. They often use a type of sealant that expands to fill in any cracks. It can take up to 24 hours or even longer for that sealant to fully dry. Once it does dry, you can paint the walls or even put up wallpaper.

Change the Flooring

One reason you may dislike spending time in your basement is because the floor is so cold. This is especially true of basements that do not have insulation in the walls and of basements that have cement floors. To make that space more functional, choose a type of flooring that you can put down on the cement like wood or tile. You can even opt for heated flooring, which comes with coils that sit between the old flooring and the new flooring. Those coils make the floor so warm that you can walk around barefoot.

Pick Your Decorations

Even after putting down new flooring and waterproofing the space, your basement may still look unfinished. Once you decide what to do with that room, pick some decorations that work with the space. For a rec room, you may want to bring in a ping pong table, some comfortable couches and posters to hang on the walls. If you want to make the space a guest room, you need a bed and some new linens. The right decorations will give your basement that homey look you want. Contractors can help you transform your unfinished basement into a livable space in less time than you thought.

Hey There Happy New Year!

2016 was a rollercoaster. The passing of my Mom hit me hard. I am still grieving. The holiday season has been very emotional and...I'm actually going to keep this short because I am not into pondering posts. That is why I haven't really posted much personal posts. I would like to keep that to myself.

But wanted to share some news with you. My family moved and we were able to purchase a new home:
