This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Whitney Farms for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Whitney-Farms-Logo_Banner_New_C.jpg (6 documents, 6 total pages)

I just love gardening! Don't you? I am growing some tomatoes, that are doing really well - I even have one little tomato growing on one of the plants already. Here's a picture of that little tomato.

My daughter and I also planted a window box. Full of pretty flowers. It is outside her bedroom window. Here is a picture of that. Aren't these nice?

I would have liked to use some products from Whitney Farms® - but I just found out about them. They have organic soil - which would be so cool to plant with. I would love to have an all organic garden!

Well I am also going to plant some herbs too. I have one mint plant that I still have to plant outside. I  hope to get some of the Whitney Farms organic soil to do that in.

Another thing I can do is get some of their organic plant food.  I always like to give the plants, especially my vegetable plants some healthy food to give them an extra boost, along the way.  Here's a picture of the tomato and vegetable food by Whitney Farms.

I think my garden could really improve with these products. I mean they are all natural and no additives. They do not have artificial ingredients like other conventional plant food. So who wouldn't want that! If you would like a coupon for $3.00 off Whitney Farms, then click any of the links above to get one! Happy gardening!

DivaCup Review and Giveaway

Hey girls - I've got a cool product to share with you. It is called the Diva Cup. This post could go under the category of TMI for some. So if that's the case - sorry.

But if you want to read on about this product - which is a menstrual cup, then I hope you find this post informative.

First here is some information from their website:

The DivaCup is a non-absorbent menstrual cup that simply collects menstrual flow. It is inserted in the vagina and sits at the lower base of the vaginal canal. It is worn internally, yet because it is soft and smooth, it cannot be felt nor will it leak when inserted properly.
The DivaCup is the most clean and convenient method of feminine hygiene protection. No need to touch the flow. It is worn low in the vagina, not near the cervix, so it is easy to remove. No mess!
The DivaCup ends hassles with unreliable disposables in endless absorbencies, shapes and styles. It is perfect for all activities – giving women true freedom without the worry, guessing and unreliability that disposable feminine hygiene products pose.
The DivaCup can be worn for up to 12 hours before emptying, washing and reinserting for use for another 12 hours. It can be used for light or moderate flows and is emptied more often to accommodate heavy flows.  Perfect for overnight use.
The DivaCup’s expert, proprietary, patent-pending features make it comfortable and assures ease of use and reliability. Perfect for traveling, running, biking, hiking, dancing, camping, swimming, diving, scuba, yoga, extreme sports and more...

  • Latex-free, BPA-free, plastic-free
  • No dyes, colors or additives
  • Comfortable, reliable
  • Clean, convenient, easy-to-use
  • Worn for up to 12 hours at a time

My thoughts on product:

I contacted Diva Cup in hopes they would approve me to do a review/giveaway for them. And was happy when they did. I received the Diva Cup actually a week after I had just finished my period. So had to wait another cycle.

I just successfully finished my menstrual cycle using the Diva Cup. Here is a breakdown of my experience.

Day 1 - after reading the instructions a few times and getting over my initial reservations, I decided to go ahead and give the Diva Cup a try. the first day is still somewhat of a light day, so I noticed I only had to change about every 5 hrs.

Day 2 -  the second day is my "heavy day." I had to change the Diva cup probably every hour. There was about a a 5-8 hr time span where I was changing it every hour.

Day 3 - I was able to go for about 5-6 hrs without changing the Diva Cup.

Pros:

  1. stopped using tampons - didn't use one the whole time.
  2. great for the environment
  3. save money
  4. no toxins
  5. easy to use
Cons:
  1.  had to change as frequently as a tampon
  2. still had to use a pad - but mostly only a pantyliner

Final thoughts:

I waited for that ah-ah moment - like when you could keep the Diva Cup in for 12 hrs and not worry about it, but that didn't seem to happen - for me anyway. I think my period is too heavy at one point for that. But I would have to do that with tampons anyway, and just think of the toxins I saved & the environmental consequences I saved not using tampons. I will continue to try this, and as I have read - like with anything - there is a learning curve with the Diva Cup, so maybe after a few more months I will get the hang of this.

One more side note: I didn't read anything on this, but I feel like the Diva cup may have shortened my period. I have not seen anything on their website mentioning this, I may have seen one other review mentioning this, but I feel like maybe that could be true? One thing to consider & be happy about!

As always please visit sponsors  website to get more specific information and to read all instructions carefully before using for yourself.

Buy It: Please visit these links to see where you can purchase your own Diva Cup:  Store Finder and Buy Now pages.

Win it: One lucky reader will win a Diva Cup of their own - in size of their choice (see website for size determination) Open to US & Canadian Residents. Use Rafflecopter below.

Homemade Dog Food

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of homemadedogfood.com for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Hey guys - I just watched a really cool video and visited a webiste too. I want to share some information about it.

This website is about how to make Homemade dog food. This is such a great idea - don't you think? With all the dog food recalls they have it seems like a good idea to make your own dog food. There was some various health scares for dogs associated with store bought dog foods. So it really makes sense to make your own.

It really seems like a lot healthier alternative for your dog. Like I said I was just watching a video. And it was about an Easy cooked dog food recipe. And it does seem like a very easy recipe to make. It basically almost just looks like a meatloaf recipe - you would even make for yourself. And you do add a few things that are special just for dogs - so they can get the vitamins and omega fats they need.

But if you have a dog, you should really give this a try. You can make it seems like about 48 servings of dog food from this recipe, and then freeze some. I bet you would also save some money making your own dog food too. And it looks a lot healthier - because you know what is going into it.

Love The Moment In Virginia Beach

What's up dear readers? Are you starting to think about summer? Maybe a fun trip to the beach? Well I know I am! I really want to go the the beach this summer.

Especially I've got to get to Virginia Beach! If you guys recall I even posted a picture of my kids at Virginia Beach. You can look at my archives to check that out if you want. I actually was looking over some other pictures that I had taken that day. And I want to share some more with you. That is my daughter - enjoying her fun time - making a sand castle. One of her favorite things to do at the beach!

Another thing that struck me about Virginia Beach is how warm the water was! I was loving it. Being originally from New England, I am used to freezing cold ocean temperatures! I really loved how warm the water was at Virginia Beach, and even I was having fun in the warm water and riding the waves!

(c) stay at home mom

As you also may or may not know, we moved to Virginia last July. I can not believe it has been almost a year since we have moved here. We have been so busy with the move, work and school, that we really only had that one trip to Virginia Beach to enjoy. But we are defiantly going to change that this summer.

My husband has a weeks vacation coming up in July, so we are going to go to Virginia Beach for at least a few days. I have been doing some research on planning a trip and there is a lot of great resources to find information.

I was visiting the  Virginia Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau  and have been getting lots of ideas about hotels, restaurants and activities at Virginia Beach. Please visit this website for yourselves to get all kinds of information about Virginia Beach.

One thing I saw when we went there was a lot of people para-sailing! There are lots of companies that provide that on Virginia Beach. And that would be something to cross of my bucket list. I would really love to try that! My husband said he would too. Maybe we can do that on our trip. That would be so cool.

I also noticed that they have a lot of companies that do boat tours. You can have a fun excursion on a boat tour - from everything to a fishing trip to dolphin sighting. While I was there we even noticed something that looked like a pirate ship. Look at this picture I took when I was there. Isn't that cool?

(c) Stay at home mom

Another thing I remember seeing that I really want to do - is rent some bikes. There is a whole bike path that runs along the beach. We saw all kinds of people doing that. You can even rent one that the whole family can fit in. That looked like so much fun!

And of course, while I'm on vacation I really do not want to do any of the cooking. I was checking out Coastal Food Tours of Virginia and saw so many ways that you can enjoy all the coastal cuisine that Virginia has to offer.

There is so much to do and see at Virginia Beach. I really can not wait to get back there and really share in all the fun moments with my family!
