Simply Bags Review

Back to school time, is fast approaching in our household. School starts August 31st. Although my kids are not very happy about going back to school, there is one thing they do get excited about. And that is the "Back to School Shopping."

The "Back to School Shopping" also includes new backpacks. That's why my daughter and I were thrilled when we were contacted by  Simply Bags to review one of their backpacks. My daughter picked out a quilted backpack.

She wanted it in red with black trim. - So that is what we chose,(other color combinations available)  below is a picture of her modeling her new backpack.

Information on product:
Colorful quilted back pack with polka dot trim. Soft lightweight cotton fabric, for ease in carrying to work, travel or school. Finished with contrasting polka dot trim. Fashion fabric quilted bag measures 11"W x 13"H, five inch footed bottom. Inside zip pocket and outside zipper closure. Finished with polka dot bow.

Our take on the product:

My daughter really loves all the little details on her new backpack. For one thing she loves the color of it. It really stands out with the red! She also likes the little hearts on it - at the end of each zipper. She thinks the bow on it is also super cute. Another really neat thing about it is the straps in the back. There is a zipper attaching the two straps, that way you can either zip them up and use it as one strap, or unzip for two. This is really a unique feature, I have never seen before. My daughter really likes that about it.

And she has her name monogrammed on it too, which she thinks is cool!

Recommendation:

So if you are looking for a great variety of backpacks, bags, etc., then you should check out Simply Bags. The backpack we received is great, and really quality made.

Disclaimer: I was given this backpack from Simply Bags, for the sole purpose of reviewing it. No other compensation was given and my opinions are my own.

WW #120 "Field Trip"

Back in May, my daughter missed a field trip she was supposed to go on. That is because of a knee injury and her being on crutches. My husband and I felt guilty about not letting her go, but it just wasn't possible. So ever since then, we promised her we would take her to the place where she was supposed to go.

Well we did that last week. Her class was studying ocean animals, and looking in tide pools. There was also a small science museum that was cool. Here's some pictures of our "field trip."

New Sheets From CSN Stores

Don't you just love that clean sheet feeling? When you wash your sheets and put them on your bed. There is nothing better then that.

Well then how about brand new sheets? That's like a double whammy. That clean sheet felling along with crisp new sheets!

That's exactly what has happened to me. I received some new sheets from CSN Stores. When I was asked to do another review for them. I immediately thought of getting some sheets for my bed. I can not remember the last time I bought some. So I was very excited to pick some new ones out.

I decided on these Laura Ashley - Emilie Sheet Set - King. Here they are pictured below. (not my actual bed - I will spare you that)

But these sheets are so beautiful & so nice. I tried them out last night for the first time. I couldn't wait to go to bed so I could sleep on my new sheets. I felt like a kid on Christmas Eve. These sheets are great -  I'm so happy! And I was happy (as usual) with CSN Stores service - especially the fast shipping!

Disclaimer: I received a $60.00 online GC from CSN Stores to facilitate this review. No other compensation was given, and my opinions are my own.

Seventh Generation "Back To School Kit" Review & Giveaway - ENDED

I recently received some Seventh Generation products from MyBlogSpark, to review and offer in a giveaway. With kids going back to school soon, it may be the time to start thinking about certain things. Backpacks and pencils are important, but all the germs kids pick up in school is something you may want to think about. That is why Seventh Generation is providing tips from best selling author and pediatrician Dr. Alan Greene. Here are some suggestions from Dr. Alan Greene:

Optimize the immune system
  • Reap the benefits of probiotics like those found in yogurt. A recent study showed that children who received enough probiotics daily throughout the cold and flu season had a significant reduction in the number of illnesses they had and, when they did get sick, the symptoms were both milder and didn't last as long.
  • Be sure your child is getting plenty of vitamin D from the sun, from food, or from a supplement.
  • Build a strong foundation. Good food, good sleep, and good physical activity all help the immune system to flourish.
Be wise about reducing unnecessary exposure to harmful germs
  • Teach children the key times to clean their hands in the classroom. The most important times include after sneezing, coughing or using the restroom, upon leaving "high-risk" places (recess, naptime, play stations) and before meals or snacks.
  • Sixty percent of teachers surveyed said that they request that parents donate disinfecting wipes to the classroom. Seventh Generation´s disinfecting wipes kill 99.99% of germs* naturally using the active ingredient thyme, a component of thyme oil which is derived from the herb thyme.
  • Stress the importance of not touching their eyes, nose or mouth. Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth.
  • Demonstrate to your children how to cover their mouth and nose for every cough and sneeze. This simple maneuver has spectacular results in decreasing the spread of viruses and bacteria floating about the room, waiting to be inhaled.
*Refer to disinfecting product labels for full details.

I was excited to try out these products. I cleaned my bathroom with some of them. I really liked the smell of the multi-surface cleaner and disinfecting wipes. It is lemongrass & thyme. It reminded me of my garden when I grew some thyme.

Win it: One lucky reader will win the Seventh Generation "Back to School Kit" which includes everything shown above.

Mandatory Entry: YOU MUST DO THIS FIRST or all other entries will be DELETED! Please tell me a way you keep your household clean during the school year.
