An Island Life hosts this meme. Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
My Question: How old is your refrigerator?
My Answer: Silly question - maybe. But mine is only about 9 yrs old and it pretty much broke down the other day. Ugh! Now I have to look into getting another one that I really can't afford. I mean my mother said hers is like 25 years old! They don't make things like they used to.
Sorry for the rant, I'm just a little depressed about it.

ReplyDeletewe live in an apartment
Mine is 6 years old and the water hose to it broke somehow a couple weeks ago & flooded my kitchen & basement (we were out of the house all morning or I would have noticed sooner) I agree they just don't make things like they used too!
ReplyDeleteAbout 20 years old and it isn't working properly. We so need a new one.
ReplyDeleteMine is about 1 1/2 years old.
ReplyDeleteWe have had ours for two years, before that we had one that was a hand me down from my parents. It was 30 years old.
ReplyDeleteWhen we bought our house 6 years ago we redid the entire kitchen. The only item that we did not replace was the refrigerator. That started to go last year. I think it has been almost a year since we bought the new one. My in-laws just had to replace theirs that was about 9 years old. The one that was here as about the same. Things are not made the way they used to be. The nice part, the newer ones are more energy efficient.
ReplyDeleteWe had one that last over 35 years and it was still working when we got rid of it! Now we have two on is 10 years old and the other one is not quite 1 year now.
ReplyDeleteMy Aloha Friday Link for you
Happy Aloha Friday, Sue! Mine is about 2 years old because the one we had for 7 years broke down and fixing it didn't work. Bummer.
ReplyDeleteWe just got a new one for the kitchen last year so its only about a year old. The one down stairs is about 5 years old and the one in the garage is about 5-6 years old too.
ReplyDeleteOurs is two years old. We bought it with the house.
ReplyDeleteI hope ours last longer too. It's true they don't make things as they used to
lmao I honestly have no idea - we live in an apartment and it was here when we moved in and will be there when we move out!

Mine is 11yrs old. And no they do not make things the way they used to. A couple years ago a refrigerator repair man told me that they make them to last on average 10yrs now. Depressing.
ReplyDeleteNot sure as we live in an apartment and it was already here.

I don't think mine is as old as yours and it is not very healthy.
ReplyDeleteOurs is fairly new...three or four years?? Our six year-old dishwasher just broke, though - I know people who have 20 year-old dishwashers!! they definitely don't make appliances like they used to. : ) I'm a new follower from Fun Follow Friday.
